  1. Berkley Big Game Green! Been there done that and can't go wrong with it. It is always easy to find, cheap, and works!
  2. I am glad I am not the only one. For the past 3 years I have tried Seagur Invisx, Trilene 100% floro, Berkley Vanish, BPS brand, and Vicious. I went back the Trilene Big Game green in 10, 12 15lb on my baitcasters. I use P-line Cx premium copoly on spinning, and Power Pro braid on swim jigs and frogs. I will never go back to floro. They all have one characteristic tha no one can argue with -- if you have even the slightest bit of fray in floro it is going to snap. I fish around 90 days a year and compete in several tournaments. I can't stand floro and won't use it just because the pros use it.
  3. Will the Mustad 32796 fit in the Do It mold flat eye Arkie Jig mold that the 32798 goes into?
  4. I have the roundhead weedless mold and two shakey head molds. I use roundhead jigs for casting jigs. I would like a jig mold for flipping wood, water willow, docks, any nasty stuff. What mold is best? I like the looks of the arkie mold that uses the 32798 mustad hook, but I don't know if that hook is strong enough. I need some opionions.
  5. I used 15 lb Seaguar before with no problems, but had two break offs with the 8 lb test on my shakey head rig. I always retie and check my line for abrasion. I won't use Seaguar again for this application.
  6. I use big game for most of my applications (10 cranks, 12 light worm and jig, 15 spinnerbaits, bigger jigs and worms) so could big game 8 lb work for shakey head fishing? I have been using Seaguar Invisx in 8-10 lb but it keeps breaking off and not neccassarily at the knot every time. I have never had a problem with big game breaking, but is the 8lb big game to visible in clear water? What do you guys think?
  7. I had a Shimano Crucial drop shot casting rod that I used for shakey heads and drop shot. I broke the tip of that rod and am exchanging it for a G-loomis. I am getting a loomis because I have several of them and like the expeditor warranty because I fish a lot of tournaments and if I break a rod I need another one quick. I really liked the Shimano Crucial drop shot rod. My quiestion is this, which G-loomis rod should I get? The lighter 820 rated for 1/8 to 3/8 mag light or the 822 rated for 3/16 to 1/2 mag medium. I usually use an 1/8 to 1/4 oz shakey head or drop shot. Do any of you guys have these rods? If so which one do you prefer and why? Thanks in advance for replies.
  8. Sweet! I just needed one person to tell me it was good. That gives me a good excuse to spend more of my kid's college money. Thanks Ronnie.
  9. Does anyone have this rod? Can I also throw a shakey head on it? Do you like the rod?
  10. I contacted them and they are sending me a return shipping label to me to send the rod back. TW is very good in the customer service department.
  11. I bought a Shimano Crucial Drop Shot rod from Tackle Warehouse about a month ago. Today I went fishing and hooked a fish about 2lbs and it made a run under the boat and the tip of the rod broke. I was furious. I take care of all of my equipment and hate it when stuff like this happens. I have never flipped a fish in the boat or anything like that with this rod. My question is will Tackle Warehouse refund or replace my rod or does Shimano? I really don't want another Shimano rod so what do I do. By the way I am not bashing Shimano I will continue to use Shimano reels but I have never broken a rod like this before so I plan on buying another brand rod. Thanks in advance for replies.
  12. I am a confessed line ho. I came back to Trilene Big Game 10,12, and 15 pound test. For heavier applications I use Power Pro braid. As far as memory, anything that is 20 pound or bigger is going to have memory.
  13. I went fishing with a guy yesterday and he stored all of his plastics out of the bags in plano 3700 boxes. Will the plastics stay in good shape? Have any of you done this?
  14. I have tried every flavor of line. You name it and I've tried it. Mono and floruocarbon. I think that I have finally finished my line expierment. I went back to using what I used when I was a kid--Trilene Big Game mono. I use 10/12 pound for cranks and 15lb for soft baits and jigs. I use Power Pro braid for frogs, swim jig, and flipping heavy cover. Am I the only one out here that still uses Big Game or am I all alone?
  15. Last year I tried about every line on the market. I came back to what I started on, BPS excel. I use 8lb for shakey heads, 14lb for jigs and texas rigs, 17lb for spinnerbaits, 10llb and 12lb for cranks, and Power Pro braid for pitching in heavy cover. BPS is a good line and would recommend to anyone.
  16. I use a Shimano Citica 100 paired with a G-loomis 852 Mossyback rod. I throw 3/16 oz shakey head jigs with 10lb fluro with no problem. I have a Curado also but use it as my jig reel.
  17. I just used some for the first time today. I have used Seagur invisx, Vanish, BPS excel mono, Trilene xl, Trilene xt, Trilene max, and Cajun Red Cast over the past two years. Here are my opinions. I have tried not to use flurocarbon but I like the sensitivity to much. Vanish was ok. Seagur was awesome but cost way to much money. I really liked Red Cast and BPS Excell mone. For the money I am hoping that Vicious will be my flurocarbon for now. I have a tournament this weekend so I'll let you know how it works. So far I like it.
  18. How many of you guys use it? Do you like it? It is very abrasion resistant? Thanks in advance for replies.
