Curious, what other reels did you try during your search for the right BC?

Super Fluke Sub Surface
T-rigging is something you need to become proficient at if your going to do much fishing. Watch a few how to videos, grab a couple of old baits and practice until you can do it in your sleep. it may take a little practice buy you will get it and be glad that you did.

Super Fluke Sub Surface
I typically fish the magnum fluke on a 5/0 and the super fluke on either a 3/0 or 4/0

Way to go ABU Garcia!

Super Fluke Sub Surface
Just rig it with the nose bent very slightly down. When you move it it will keep the bait just under the surface.

K C Chiefs 9 - 0
I agree a win is a win and I am happy the Chiefs have found a way to get nine in a row, impressive by any means in the NFL. I am also realistic and know for the Chiefs to have continued success the remainder of the season they need improvement in a lot of ways. The Cowboys do seem to find a way to pull defeat from the jaws of victory, they have some bad losses.

From The Back Of The Boat.......
If your fishing tournaments trolling is more than likely not going to be allowed. If he is winning by a large margin with a finesse jig, then I would throw a finesse jig. You said he is moving fast which makes it difficult for multiple cast to the same target and it also makes it difficult to cover everything. Pay attention to his casts and cover what he missed, and make a second cast to anything that looks goods that did not produce for him. Plastics T-rigged are also another option.

I agree, I thought the KC defense looked bad today. While they were able to come up with and score on some timely turnovers, the Bills were able to move the ball against them both running and passing with an injured RB and a rookie QB. I feel like the Bills would have easily won that game if not for the TO's. The offense has not looked great all year, and the last two weeks it has been not existent. Once they play teams that protect the ball and score points, the Chiefs will have a much tougher time winning. I have faith they can win against the Raiders and San Diego, but I am very concerned about how they will perform against Denver.

Bait Caster Using Lighter Lures?
It takes a good combination of rod and reel when you start casting baits under 1/4oz. The cheaper route is to invest in spinning gear, but if your heart is set on doing it with BC equipment there are some out there that are very capable. Many of the better reels designed to cast baits in this weight range are made by Daiwa or customized versions of Daiwa reels. Some that I am familiar with are the Sol, Pixy, Alphas, TD-Z and I personally use an upgraded Fuego. These reels are getting harder to find in good shape and can set you back anywhere from 200-600 dollars depending on what variant of the reel and what has been done to it. I use 8lb FC on my reel, I feel that the line is a little more dense and has a harder exterior than some other lines and this in my opinion aids in casting distance.

Carrot Stix
I had three of the original carrot Stix, they were wonderful rods, light weight, extremely sensitive and priced right. Sometime after their initial release they changed things up for the worse, quality issues and poor customer service ruined them. I fished my original rods for three years problem free, sold them to a friend who still uses them to my knowledge. I can't speak from personal experience regarding any of their new stuff, but from what I read in the fishing community they are not on anyone's top list of must have rods.

Anybody Throwing Less Than A 1/4 Oz With A Baitcaster
I can but do not enjoy it on a BC rod and reel. I have had luck with a few reels, a supertuned Curado 50 with OS7 bearings, several of my Gen 2 Premiers with OS7 bearings and now a highly modified and tuned Daiwa Fuego which actually does the best job of the bunch. The rod I have have the greatest luck with was an old Shimano Crucial crankbait rod, Med/Mod, it loaded easily and handled the light baits well.

What Is Your Favorite Rod/ Rod Compay?
I prefer Falcon rods, I use mostly the Cara line with a Gloomis, Dobyns and a St.Croix mixed in here and there. I like the fact that the Falcon rods are made in the USA.

Drag Grease
Applying the proper grease to carbontex drag washers most certainly does not ruin them, in fact it is recommended. We are not talking about felt washers here, although I have also applied Teflon based grease to these as well with no ill experience. Here is a reference link, while applying grease is optional it def. will not damage the disks. http://www.biggreenfish.com/drag_upgrades.htm http://www.smoothdrag.com/installation.html

Drag Grease
Yes, smoother overall, smoother startup, little less total drag pressure but the revos have plenty to spare. I prefer Cals drag grease.

Daiwa B/c Magnetic Brake Question
Magnets are very interesting, and I have studied them for another hobby that I participate in. Two things that can affect the strength of magnets in fishing reels is heat, and shock. The temps that fishing reels are commonly exposed to is a non factor, and shock, as in impact type drops would have to be fairly significant to have a big impact on fishing reels. One report I read said that magnets when tested may lose only 1-2% of their capacity over a 10 year period in a normal use situation. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Phantom Backlash
Just like snowflakes, no two casts are ever exactly the same. Think of the countless variables that affect each cast. That it why it is so important to develop the most important brake, your thumb.
