I have finished playing with these two, and have a NIB Sol on the way, another Fuego and still working on a Tatula to get them just like I want.

Chronarch 50E Or Tatula R
The type r spool is just a little over 16grams, and in my hands will cast a 1/4 oz bait 40 yards with little effort, it is also good at a 1/8th oz and I was able to get casts of 30 yards with little problem. The frame is much larger than the 50e and it weighs about 7.7 oz . I prefer the 16 lbs of stock drag pressure, the 90mm handle length, and the smoothness of the Tatula. I also prefer mag force z to centrifugal braking. If I were looking for a finesse type reel it would not be the Tatula as there are better reels for this. Based on size and weight alone I would go with the 50e if it were my only other choice.

Crankbait Reel Under $100
There are three like new Revo Winch reels in the For Sale forum for $65 each. That is a good deal.

Baitcast Reel Problems
Take the pawl cap off and remove and inspect the pawl, while the pawl is out crank the reel and see if you still have the same problem. If not you have a bad pawl or levelwind , if the problem is still there I would suspect a gear problem.

Baitcast Reel Problems
Sounds like a bad gear or a levelwind issue to me

I don't believe the hawgtech handle will allow you to use anything but their cork grips. Maybe someone else can confirm.

Pfluegar Patriarch Casting Reel
I believe that he is asking about the new Pflueger reels that were released this year. I have owned and fished the older reels and they were very nice in terms of casting and smoothness, they were however very heavy compared to similar models of other mfg's. if that is not a problem then they are a very good reel. The new ones are more comparable to the Abu Gen 3 reels but feel even more cheaply made in my opinon, while they are light, and fairly smooth, I just could not get past the cheap feel of the new reels. I have not fished them and only had limited amount of time in store to evaluate them, I will say that it did not take me long to know that they are not a reel that I would be interested in using.

Best Baitcaster Under $125
The Daiwa reels are fun to clean, tune and upgrade. They end up being unique and they are still some very nice reels even by todays standards. I like the Sol's as well, I would like to find a good used one and do a little work on it. I will say that I don't understand why the Sol is the more popular reel than the Fuego. The Fuego can be found much less expensive and with a spool upgrade it casts great and is very smooth. Something you might think about.

Best Baitcaster Under $125
I purchased two Daiwa Fuego reels for 100 ea. A magnesium framed reel in great shape for 100 dollars is a great deal in my book.

How Many Different Rods Are In Your Arsenal?
Falcon Cara's make up a majority of the rods I fish but I also use rods from St.Croix, Dobyns and Gloomis. A total of around 20 or so.

What Else Do I Need

Better Deal Versus Local Store
I try to work with my local guys as much as possible, but if I can get it much less expensive, or something that they just can't get, I go elsewhere.

What's Your Favorite Hollow Belly Frogs And Why?
I use the Jackall Iobee frog almost exclusively, they have great hooks, the durability is fantastic, and they are one of the easiest frogs to walk that I have ever used.

Hard Jerkbait Deep
I like to fish the LC Pointer SP 100 DD, it has a depth range of somewhere between 5-8ft. Jerbaits work best in clear water situations where the fish can see them from a ways off, I have fished them in very deep water with success on lakes like Beaver Lake, AR. It seems that water clarity and cloud cover play a very important part in the effectiveness of the these baits, along with the baits ability to suspend properly.

Frog Rod/reel Setup
Gen 2 STX makes a good frog reel, good drag pressure with these reels. I prefer a little shorter rod, because the technique is typically worked tip down, I am only 6ft tall so when I use a rod that is much longer than 7ft, I start hitting the side of the boat and the water when working the bait. Two things that are a must for me when fishing frogs is a good high quality braided line, I prefer FX2, and a F or XF rod. I use the Falcon Cara, Jason Christie Frog rod,

I get almost all of my stuff from either Hedgehog-Studios or Semperfi-tackle. Both have reasonable prices, fast shipping and are very reliable. The hyper corks came from The Tackle Trap.

Thanks, when I first saw the Tatula and heard they were going to release a Type R, I kinda thought it would look something like this. I have some red screws but they are just a touch too long to use on this reel, gonna have to make an order for another set, they look nice installed.
