3rd Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
Man I really want to attend..........I mean REALLY want to attend............. Here's my dilema. From now till March I usually stockpile as much $$$ as I can for my tournament season which usually begins in early to mid April here. If I commit my stockpile of $$$ to this trip things will be really tight for my tourney season. I already have an invite from Roadwarrior to stay with him and Flechero (I think) so that part will save me some $$$. Fuel is my only other considerable $$$ concern. I live in Northwestern PA and figure the one way trip to be over 700 miles. I plan on driving and taking my boat. Is there anyone up this way who would like to go with me and split fuel costs? I have a Chevy Silverado w/ extended cab, probably could actually take 2 people with me. I'm looking for 1 or 2 guys to share trip expenses. ANYONE UP THIS WAY INTERESTED?

Smelly Jelly
I also Smelly Jelly and have been for about 5 years. I'm not conviced that a scent will attract a fish to your bait. I am convinced that a scent will help a fish to hold onto a bait just a little longer helping in getting the fish hooked.

The Best and Biggest bass tournament in history!!!
I like the idea of the Big Bass Tourney. Our club does something similar once a year as a fun outing. You definately have to change your way of thinking and fishing. One bite........

"4" is too slow and "5" is too fast
I had a 40lb All Terrain, it was the same way. I'm afraid that's probably the way it was made and there may not actually be anything wrong but who knows?

tubes, how do you fish them
Federation angler Terry McWilliams, I think, made the term "stupid tube" more popular when he used it in the Bassmasters Classic in 2006 on Lay Lake.

another cell phone bites the dust
I fried 2 cellphones in the last year, allowing them to dry did nothing. I now have a waterproof phone ;D

32lb Sack at Clear Lake wins it!
I just looked at the article here on BR then the FLW site. Kellog's lunker was an 11 lb 8 oz LARGEMOUTH. In his angler profile his only pic is of him holding the fish. Our BR article has the correct weight, wrong species......

Not hunting deer, kinda gave that up a few years ago. Been bangin the ducks, turkeys this weekend hopefully. A couple guys in the tourney did lock up day 2 and at least 1 18 incher was brought back down. Next year we won't have to worry about that silly reg, that pool has been removed from the Big Bass program for 2008! I still hear those sirens and wistles, do I have a problem? Erie has been like the North Atlantic, thinkin it may be over for the year, main lake at least.

Big Brookie....On a Jig!!!
Man, I also think it looks like a Tiger trout, I'll see if I can dig up a pic of one. Nice fish! Where did you catch it?

Open water jigging- what line do you use?
12 lb Gamma Edge floro.

Trolling motor shuts down????
You mentioned the breaker popping? Along with some of the other suggestions regarding wiring, you may want to up to a higher amp breaker.

Newbies to Largemouth Bass Fishing
Welcome! I would recommend that you post the water conditions which you are fishing, IE...clarity, temperature. Fall bassin can be tricky especially if your area has had a bout of cooler weather or it's first fronts of the Fall. In Fall, bass will tend to gang up to feed. They will sometimes vacate their Summer haunts and do nothing but chase bait. My first recommendation would be to search for the prey they are eating then fish the areas where you find it. You'll get plenty of helpful responses here, enjoy and good luck!

One of my favorites

Hook for drop shotting
A #1 Gammie drop shot hook and 6 lb Gamma floro is all I use. I like the little extra gap in the 1, I almost never loose a fish. I landed smallies and largies up to 6 lbs with no problems.

Is there anything I can do?
Just curious, is it illegal to use live bait just in that body of water or is it a state regulation? Live bait is legal and pretty common here. Thx

SW Pennsylvania Thread
Man that's tough. I would start on a 15 foot break and maybe head shallower. If no bites go out deeper say 20-25 feet. I fished there in mid September and my success was 25-30 feet. I hear the bay is on fire for largies, spinnerbaits early then pitching to weeds when the sun gets up.

Looking for a good aerator. Any suggestions?
I have the one Catt posted, 500 gph, been very reliable for me.

stopping dropshot twisted line?
That does not solve the issue of the line twisting when you reel the bait back up. IMHO that's where most of the twist comes from, the bait will spiral upward when reeling it in causing twist in the line.

stopping dropshot twisted line?
When I notice line twist I take the bait off and cast the rig out and reel it back, 2 times, that usually removes most of the twist.

The death of sportsmanship??? ( not too long)
It's a shame that things are that way in your area. Many in this area can be tight lipped but that's mostly with guys who fish team or open trails. Our club trails here are very educational, yet still competetive. Our club is very open about skills, techniques etc..and it makes it fun to fish the club events. I and others in this club have often run into another member on the water during a tournament, given them baits, told them how we are catching fish etc.... I learned more in a couple years than I ever could have on my own. It's probably a good thing that there is no hazing or harassing, or just plain arrogance in this club. I cannot stand that and I'm the type of guy who would call the offenders on their actions. I think those types are more the exception than the norm, at least in this area..........
