my local tackle shop has a new stradic FG for sale, I think its a older model of stradic. Is it worth 100 bucks, or should I just cough up the extra 60 bucks and get the new stradic? Are there any major difference between the two reels?

how do you fish a tube? I have done slow rolling, and bottom fishing (pop it once every few second, then let it sit). But I have never caught a LMB on it before, then switch to a worm or crank then bites start to come in at the same spot.

I just got permission to fish a private lake, and last year the owner caught a lunker which weights 6lb8oz. I know something good would come alone, when I offered to do his tax return for free. Man, I can't wait for Marchha ha!!!

It depends on the mood of the boss, just like a woman. Sometimes they have the craving for worms, and sometimes cranks. Work an area with everything in your tacklebox, and see one they like. On a sunny day, when the water is clear I have more luck catching them on lipless than anything else. Then, someday I couldn't catch them with anything else other than plastics. Fortunately, slow moving plastics have always produced for me regardless of condition.

Thanks. I have started to read alot about kayaking, and people seems to dislike Pelican. But I can't found out why, at least not on the net. Anyone care to explain, the main difference between Pelican vs. ocean kayak or any other decent brand?

Welcome! It's depends on each kid, some kids like to fish and some don't. My 10 years old brother likes it, but he can't do more than 3 hours. But what I have found is that, if I can keep him entertained with other stuff then he would be fine. For example, let him play with my ps3 while I fish or give him a book. Don't force it, but find something interesting for him to do so he will stay out longer each time. And luckily for me, the lake I fish at has a play ground and ice cream standIf he is really bored, then I will take him there for an hour then go back to fishing.

As to start the new year, my project is to build a fishing kayak before spring. hehe. Is 8 feet enough or I should look for something bigger? The one I am currently looking at is "Pelican Pursuit 80 Kayak " which goes for 250 bucks.

That's one of my goal for 2011, build a fishing kayak.

Let's see: Box 1: Two bags of Senko worms, usually one bag in green pumpkin/black and another bag is watermelon/xxx. A bag of Zoom trick worm. Then, I will carry some sorted hooks and bullet weight (usually fished weightless). Box 2: Buzz bait, spinner wait, Stanley frogs Box 3: Crank baits, and lipless cranks. Also, I will carry my fishing license, scale, measure tape, and a multi-tool in a backpack.

Ipad is an awesome tool for me, hehe. I can attend conference on the go, so kool.

What kind of oil do u use?

I have a karbar that's made from 1095 carbon steel, I don't know much about knives. Would I need to oil the blade to keep it rust free? I usually sharp the blade once every other month, but never wiped with oil.
