Abu Veritas- I'm impressed
I picked up two last week, 7MHF spinning and 7MF casting. Fished the local pond for 2 hours, and the MFH is a bit stiffer then what I am used to. But hey, the rod is very light and paired up w/ Soron STX. I like this compare better than my Shimano, and I am a die hard Shimano fan.

Getting ready... Trout
Here are my two setup for trout fishing: 1. BPS 5'6 L Spinning rod/shimano Sahara(BPS 6lb test) 2. Pflueger Trion 5'0 UL combo (BPS 4lb test) This way I can cover two different depth, and this is my setup for crappie as well. I can cast longer with a 5'6, then the 5'0 can stay somewhat shallow. My favorite bait is rainbow color powerbait, and berkley salmon egg. I use number 10 hook under a slip bobber, and never go larger than a number 8 hook. My buddy has been using powerbait with wax worm, and sometimes he pulls in sunnies, crappies as well.

My new fishing log
X2 - after 3 years of documentation, I realized that 5 percent of my baits caught 95 percent of my fish - the bait monkey was not happy. A-Jay x2. most of my fishes were caught on plastics, lipless crank, or Jigs...haha

Good All-around Baitcaster Setup
Shimano Compre 7' M/F, with a Shimano Citcia. This set up should run you around 230 dollars.

Baitcaster virgin
I threw pretty much the same thing on baitcaster, as I would on a spinning reel. Reel is not going to affect your chance of catching a fish. The temperature might be too low, the presentation is not there, or need to try a different lure, etc. There is nothing to do with the reel, but it is how you work your lures.

Does your wal-mart carry anything good?
I buy all the Arkie Jigs I can found at my walmart, and sometimes they have them for 50 cents each. I use more expensive Jigs as well, but Arkie is still the best for me.

What makes you want to buy a new lure or color?
I'll buy new lures if it is highly recommended by folks at my local tackle shop, there are bunch of great guys that hang out there. Actually, I have received many great advice here and especially from RW.

Spinning Rods
I use two piece UL rods for pan fishes, and it works quiet well. But for bass fishing, I will stay with the one piece rod because it's more sensitive.

My neighbors must love me right about now.
yummy...I am hungry now

Shipping a reel, well two actually.
Bubble wrap is really cheap at walmart, if you are looking to purchase any. Also, please DON'T ship with USPS. They messed up my d**n reel purchase, darn it.

What is the best piece of fishing advice you have recieved here?
A local Pro once said, "Senko is for your grandma, go pitch a Jig." I still fish Senko, but Jig with Rage baby craw does it for me.

Extra fast vs. Fast
hmm..what's action got to do with bending?

Extra fast vs. Fast
LOL, OMG. That's so me...Maybe, I need to take one of your classes..haha

Extra fast vs. Fast
You are mixing or trying to mix different parameters sensitivity, response, backbone and power throwing them into the pot, stirring and trying to get a result to prove a point when they should be analized independently. Sensitivity has nothing to do with tip speed, sensitivity depends on density of the blank material and the line material. Here it 's a matter of response, for worming you get speedier hooksets with an extra fast rod Backbone is obtained by how the blank was built and from where along it 's length the blank bends. How easy or hard it is to fight the fish doesn 't depend on the tip speed, it depnds on the power of the rod. You can have a multitude of variable in a blank reason why different rods behave differently. There is no winner in the discusiion. thanks for the info

Extra fast vs. Fast
Yesterday during my lunch break at applebees, my co-workers and I had a big discussion about extra fast or fast tip for a worm rod. I don't think anyone won the battle on that one. With extra fast tip, there is more sensitivity and quicker response when setting the hook. But the extra fast tip makes it harder to fight the fight. With fast tip, it is less sensitive than an extra fast but it has a better backbone power. So, what do you guys think? Extra fast or fast for a worm rod?
