Rod Question
Just keep it upright, and not falling on the ground. Mine stand in the corner of a closet until tourney time.

Spinning Vs. Baitcaster
They both have their place in Bass fishing. I like spinning with finesse fishing, which I recently have started experimenting with. Its not to say that you cant finesse fish with a baitcaster, but it is easier with a spinning rig. Casting into the wind is also a lot easier with a spinner. Flipping, pitching, skipping, etc can all be done using a baitcaster, but the users skill will make it easier to do. As for light baits, it can be done with the right baitcaster that is designed for that. My preference is a baitcaster, due to I feel I have more control. With the right baitcaster you will enjoy fishing one, but prepare to spend $125-$175.

What's Everyone Flipping/punching With?
Well, for punching real heavy stuff, I have a Curado200E7 on a Sellus Flipping stick, and 50# Power Pro, and a 1 1/2oz weight to a Gambler Jig. For flipping around and under docks or cover, I have a Chronarch200E7 on a Sellus MH Worm and Jig, and 50# Power Pro, a 5/0 hook with a 1/4oz weight pegged. Usually with the Jig I use a craw style trailer, like a Gambler Mega Daddy. With the flipping docks setup, a Gambler Whynot, or an Ugly Otter.

Maintenance Questions
You don't oil mag brakes. I usualyy drop 1 drop of oil on each side of the bearing, and then spin the bearing on a pencil tip for a few minutes to work the oil in. Make sure before you reoil, you flush the bearings first. Excess oil, wipes off with the fingers.

Abu Vendetta 2
Haven't used one, but checked them out at BPs the other day, I think they look and feel better. I have a M V1, and I think they are great rods for the money.

Help Me Escape Fast Fishing!
I never started fishing slow until I got my Shimano Sienna 2500 form NAFC. Lately I have been trialing different slow uses. Today I caught 32 fish in 3hrs doing a little slow style fishing. Spinning rigs deffinately help to get you to slow down your presentation. I personally like using a brush hog, or a little ultra vibe craw. You really just have to get out there and practice trying to slow yourself down. It takes time to slow doen, trust me, lol.
