  1. So Im going on my long awaited honeymoon to Boston and Maine. At the end of the trip we are going to be at my wifes Grandfathers house on the NW side of Unity Pond. I am bringing a 7'0 MH 2 piece pole, and my 50E spooled with 12# YoZuri. Any suggestions as to what baits to use, what is up there to fish for In the Maine area, and is that rig going to be enough to fish with because I am only able to bring one.?
  2. Thats not a reel that would be a good canidate to upgrade. Thats an extra for a friend.
  3. We call those mudfish. Catch some bream and cut them up. Put them on a hook with a sinker for the bottom.
  4. Umm........never run them dry.
  5. I use a MF for my 50E with 12# YoZuri for my light plastics.
  6. Either one is good. My 12# is clear, my 20# is green
  7. I will be up there by Lake Murray on Oct 3rd. Going to Lexington for a wedding, bringing some fishing gear.
  8. I dont pack any other bearing but the AR bearing with grease. All others just get oil. I dont know if that will make a difference for you.
  9. Haha, thats classic! Got to remember that one!
  10. I have a 7' M Vendetta, those things aare stiff, to me its like a MH. I have my 50E on it with 12# YoZuri, and its got some backbone to do just about anything.
  11. If its braid yes, otherwise not really.
  12. Just be careful with the micro guide rods, they are known for popping out guide inserts.
  13. Lube them. Ardent reel butter, Bantam oil, are some good choices.
  14. No problem. It doesnt go through any degradation just sitting around indoors. Ive had line for years with no problems.
  15. my mistake, either way they are some great rods regular or shock.
  16. Ive never used that Shock rod, but have used M and MH Lightning Shocks, and they are really good rods. One of the best bang for thr buck rods Ive ever used. I keep them now as backups just in case I break a Sellus during a tourney.
  17. Its like they were made for each other, too bad the Sellus is their low model. Even still, I will probobly stay with the Sellus, it hasnt disappointed yet.
  18. its not just an E, dont listen to people that have no experience with them. Its an E body style, which is how Shimano has their line ups. To compare it to the Curado E, it has better drag system, better spool, better line guide, and is worth the extra money. The color is not that bad, just takes some getting used to. I like the way mine looks on the Sellus rod.
  19. Just one for me. Not too many places to fish something with treble hooks where I fish.
  20. Yes those orange seals are AMAZING! I have them in my Citica E. First I would worry about just cleaning it out yourself, and then later on down the road spend the extra $ on HP bearings. Get some rigs together, and some good baits. The factory Shimano bearings will serve you for years and years with no problems.
