The GREAT Mepps would catch the first one on the first cast. 2nd guy took 3 or more casts. NOTHING after 2 C & R . They do sound the alarm. With C & R in a area. Anybody else want a OOWWWWWWWWWWWW ? Best time has been 1 hour after sundown and 1 hour before sunrise. All else is random conditions. At 84 guess who does not fish early mornings ?.

The best feeling I get is helping other less fortunate people. Children, unemployed, aged. Taking them out to dinner. Best part of my life.

Do the fresh water plankton stay up high on cloudy day ? I ask, because those are my best perch days. For catching them, for a good friend, that is home bound.

We are a tourist area with screaming boats of all sizes & speeds. Almost every weekend. The fish love the noise. It causes small stuff to dart out. I catch as many eating sized & C & R sized fish right in the boat paths.

Usually helps if I cast with it. Propels The boat silently. The fish are more eager to bite after I go by. Some fish hook themselves.

I have NEVER Been spooled dry. By any fish. Almost by a HUGE 60 # ish carp ? I have the mono as filler. I want the line to go free. Not break something or me.

I really rough guessing that rig to be way under a 1.000 pounds. All the parts weight can be checked out because they are new enough. No brakes should be needed. Edit Jack up each wheel & check wheel rotation bearing noise. Spin free with a VERY SLIGHT freeplay when top of the wheel is YANKED FORCEFULLY back & forth. Check bearings for rust. Change & repack them..........Edit See if S S bearings are available. Well worth it. I use the same set since 96. I inspection. perfect.

Same wheel bearings on my 1986 trailer I did a CLEAN & repacking in 1996 ? Then reset the bearings to a couple of thousandths loose when heated after 1 hour of 65 mph. Not touched since 1996. 350# load on the 1,000 pound trailer.

My area carp have loads of spring reeds to force their way deep into. No bigger bass can get into. Carp spawn & leave the reeds. The bass & others & herons and eat the babies as they come out of the reeds.

Totally agree that Silver is best. Gold is a distant next best.

The most efficient spinner I have is a Mepps Minnow. 40 years later ? I still have 2 left. The get hit when my weighted Rapalas are a zero.

I have has bites last for hours with MEAT on a hook. Or just minutes with Rapala lures

I Have always been right handed. The Right is faster & stronger. So it always holds any rod during a cast. Spin or Fly. The left hand is the cranking hand. It works for me. When I bait casted 40 years ago was last time with a level winder. CAst spool up to brake as needed. Then put spool facing down & left hand crank. With bad joints I will be using more right hand cranking.

Well fed water animals are not going to attack stringers.

I rarely only find 1 or 2 per day. The right day is almost every cast. ?

Just lift the motor above the water. Turn it FULLY left or right full to drain MOST Of the water out. Then TILT the motor straight up again. Slowly fill the prop exhaust opening with PERMANENT antifreeze. Several boaters do it on the Lake Ontario water. For decades. The outboard motors do drain out when vertical.

Lets go fishing together. Tie up to dock. Start to bend over for the fish. DAM There goes a nice sunglass. 2 days later both are mating.

I stop every summer & exchange tackle in 2 boxes on the boat. With 3 boxes under the cottage. My fish boat is a Lowe Aluminum 16' X 4' feet wide 1986. With a 30 HP 2 stroke Evinrude. It has a 12 gallon main tank and a 6 gallon reserve tank. They take up the front 1/2 of the boat. 1 padded swiveling fishing chair that I fall asleep in. I built a side console for wheel & shifter. 3 anchors and a hand crank anchor winch. Set of 8' oars. VHF hand held in a freezer bag. I am constantly thinking a bigger boat for the last 20 years. But after reading & seeing the quality of modern stuff. I always chicken out. A salute to you fishing kayakers.
