What spare parts for spinning reels ?
I feel your pain! I cant get parts for the D series Curados I love so much, anymore. So I bought a few mechnically sound reels that were cosmetically just not 100% for cheap on the board. Now I have my own stockpile of parts to get me through.

Sufix 832/Cumara
832 is certainly quieter and it seems to retan its color a little longer than other braids too. Ive used it for a month. As far as casting distance its been the poorest braid Ive used. Using the same outfit the distance is almost half that of performance braid.

Is Braid a must?????
It aint a must for topwater fishing. Not even a must for frog fishing. I throw frogs successfully with 25lb mono on a Curado 300. Its personal preference. I use it on spinning gear but for nothing else. Too many disadvantages for me, not for most. But do and use what you want.

Moveing to Shimano Crucial or Cumara? Have you got one/do you like it?
I have both and as much as I want to like the Cumara, I like the Crucial's better. Theyve come out with the reaction series now, but the standard Cumara is very technique specific if you ask me. Geared towards soft plastic and other single hook baits. Ive also found them to not balance with lighter reels. Ive found the Crucial to be more capable to handle a variety better. Ive been very lucky, but alot of Cumaras have been returned at my local shop for the over the counter replacement with breakage just a little higher than center.

Kinda disappointed in my new Supreme XT...
Just like the CI4 slotted cap and all. Not replaceable and you have to buy the whole handle for a 25cent peice of foam. You can take it apart but they wont sell you a replacement. Id take the squared grip over the slim round one though.

Clunn goes with.......Wright and McGill???
His face is still listed as on their prostaff on the inside cover of the spring angler catalog that was just put on the shelf at BAM.

Dick's Sporting Goods deals
Yeah but the clearance price on the internet store was $79.

Best Sub $200 Baitcaster
Go with your first idea. The SX is a fine reel. I like it much better than the Curado. The Caenan is an interesting idea, the Graphite frame wouldnt bother me near as much as those stupid foam grips. Take it from somebody who got one of the first CI4's, they dont last.

Clunn goes with.......Wright and McGill???
Georgia Jeff I love it! What a perfect reply!

South Florida Bass report...
It would be pretty rare indeed to catch a Peacock on a texas rigged worm or a plastic grub. They notoriously wont hit soft plastic.

Clunn goes with.......Wright and McGill???
Not always cheaper......I remember Team Daiwa Clunn rods and he used top of the line Daiwa reels.

Clunn goes with.......Wright and McGill???
Considering BPS reels are basically Revo's and W&M is made by the conglomerate that makes Tica, I'd say its a downgrade for sure.

What are the little things that bother you?
I hate that they arent making that many reels in Japan anymore. I hate that rodmakers and anglers have forgotten about shorter rods and only concentrate on 7' plus rods. I hate that people discount Abu round reels as a viable model to use. I hate that all rods seem tip heavy now. I hate people who slam others who dont idolize the brand they worship.

First fish of 2011. 18 lbs.
Then preppin' and eatin' em on the boat, how cool is that! Love catfishing

Only average
Snook have been on fire up here. ICW is too cold we gotta go up up river. Is that a Soron or a Tierra? Looks sharp on that rod, is it a 20 or a 40? I just got a 4000 CI4 to see if it handles my local creek monsters better than the 2500 CI4 did.

Dick's Sporting Goods deals
Wow. That he would cut you a check for the difference from the earlier transaction! I was there just two days ago and picked up a ton of Rapala crankbaits. I would have went nuts on rods if I'd of noticed that.

Reel foot paint fading
Old surf fishermans trick, cover the foot with clear shipping tape. They did it to protect chromed reel feet on ambassadeur frames. The aluminum screw rings on the new abu rods are good for scratching reel feet.

Going against the grain??
If you watch the big fish pics published in Bassmaster magazine every month, there are quite a few 10+ bass caught on senkos. Zoom trick worms too. Its amazing how on this board it is now vogue to blast the senko when just a couple of years ago everyone said it was gold. I wonder when Shimano will loose its gold status?

Now that's standing behind your product.
Agree 100%

Now that's standing behind your product.
No No No. Not pro Shimano...pro Curado!

Favorie Braid for Spinning Reel
Sufix performance braid has worked for me much better than Power Pro. I just spooled a spinner with the new Sufix 832 but havent had a chance to try it yet. Reminds me some of original Fireline due to its stiffness but that'll change once its used. It seems smoother than most braids with a noticibly tighter weave. Original Fireline is great in windy conditions, alot less tangling with the tip due to its stiffness.

Fishing trends...drive me crazy!!!
Very true but be careful. Talk like this will cause a moderator to remind you that your on a bass forum and that you might be happier on a saltwater forum! Its happened before.

Revo line and what use.......
I find the SX to be better than the E series Curado myself. I never used mag controls, having only used Shimano's and C3's before. I never found the SX to be finicky at all. The STX when it first came out was finicky to me and I returned it quickly. I also find the Revo's easier to disassemble and clean than the Curado.

Fishing trends...drive me crazy!!!
Carp arent a great fight? On tv when you see Doug Stange fight those carp on the great lakes it seems like they make incredible runs. Very popular target for fly fishermen too. They dont seem to be sluggish runners on the tv!

This reel will top the chart this year...
You all hate it cause its green....just like your beloved and beautiful Curado. If it was made by Shimano you'd all be buying 'em up. Thats what makes it ugly on this board...its not a Shimano.
