  1. I'm in the same boat, no pun intended, and the 798 is one that i am looking at. If you live close to a bass pro shop, they have it on sale for 770. Keep us posted on how ya like!
  2. Lol definitely quite chaotic at times... We have our bass boat, and an 18' bayliner we use for family, and my wife and I with the 4 kids all fishing out of it. Well actually, the 4 kids fishing, and the wife and I removing fish and tangles lol...
  3. LMAO that's awesome!!! Spongebob model works well too ;-)
  4. Lol never know, could be second choice could be best choice ;-)... Good luck and enjoy!
  5. Just pondered the same thing actually, wanted a jig/carolina rig rod and ended up going 7'2MH. We fish rock bottom, little to no weed, so didn't need the backbone of the heavy. Good luck and have fun in your search ;-)
  6. Great stuff smalljaw!
  7. You will love it I am sure! My buddy has one and is very happy with it. He bought it after having to listen to me rave about my curado over and over and over and... lol Congrats and enjoy!!!
  8. Wanted the BPS Morris Sig so I had one option only, BPS. As for calling ahead, you are absolutely 110% correct. However, I would have then been running the risk of driving two hours to find that a sales guy that I didnt speak to on the phone had sold the reel to a friend, which our sales guy told us had happened to himself when he went to get the reel he set aside for a customer and came back empty handed... Dont get me wrong, I think BPS is great, just question the reel trade in process is all... I own the clunn from a few yrs back, and it still treats me well, so I stand by their product. Almost did that actually chi... Just that we live 2 hrs away, and the guy told us they couldnt ship to us and we would have to make the drive back, so we got the 6.4 which I rationalized that I would be getting more power and not really sacrificing too much line recovery (hey I had to tell myself something right? lol)...
  9. Shady that they give u a coupon for the reel when u walk in the door. You think they don't know that you're not gonna go back and ask for your reel back if they dont have what u want? They are a business with a marketing department after all, and know what they are doing... I mean, it is cool that those reels go to the kids and all, but if they were doing it for the charity, they could donate some new ones no??? Also get a nice write off I'm sure as well...
  10. Wanted 7.1:1 Johnny Morris Signature, they didn't have, but they had 6.4:1 so no biggie I guess... They should do trade at time of purchase in case they don't have what u came for. Kinda shady the way they have it set up when u really think about it...
  11. Np, and thx for the compliment. Usually they look more like the ones in your profile pic tho... Swimmin the other way! Lol
  12. Can only speak for the morris rods and reels, which we got last two 7'2MH signature, and they didnt have the 7.1s. I hear ya, we have a 2 hr haul ourselves but wanted to feel the morris before buying and they had the reel trade goin so...
  13. I'm pretty confident i could hit an auger hole on my cast, but landing one might be a little tricky :-P
  14. Wife got one last yr, we thought it would be good for her being new to baitcasting with the "backlash free technology", but it has been a dud. Braking is too involved, and it slips a lot. Luv bps products, had my clunn since 04, and it is my spinner/crankin/jerkbait rig. It's been solid. Also just bought a morris signature combo, and use mostly bps products, but enigma was one we wish we had a do over on.
  15. Gonna try c-rigged craws, and work on my jiggin this yr...
  16. Nice! Will have to hold ya to that basschaser! ;-)
  17. Thanks for input all and the peace of mind lol... ;-)
  18. Sweet, thx for the help!
  19. Looking for a unit for the console, and would love to get one with both down and side imaging, but may have to settle on one or other due to money. If you had to choose, which would you pick and why? Thanks
  20. Wife and I had these and loved them, but sold when we bought our bass boat. We fish big lakes, with heavy boat traffic so they didn't fit our needs. However, if I was fishing smaller bodies of water I wouldn't hesitate to buy again! Good luck and enjoy!
