  1. Is it just me or does anyone else want to go back and do it all again???
  2. Home and back in the working man's routine. Susan and I had a ball....she is on board again for next years trip. A big thanks to Mike, Gene and Brian for making her feel welcome and comfortable in their boats, MUCH APPRECIATED, you are true gentleman!! Besides a few LM bass I got a few whiteys, a drum, a cat and a turtle. What I lacked in numbers or size I made up for with variety...it's the spice of life they say!! Thanks to Glenn and his "middle management team" for all you do and a big shout out to Long Mike for being the coordinator. Let me not forget the great meals and all that were responsible!! Looking forward to next year and seeing all my old and new friends again!!
  3. I remember those girls!!
  4. Yep, it's that "you never know" stuff that always gets you. I'll be packing the chandeliers and telephone poles....may be renting a trailer too
  5. Anyone planning on throwing an A Rig? They've been biting it pretty good on Percy Priest and Old Hickory in Nashville but I suspect that bite is slowing down. I'd rather not pack my chandelier set up, bringing too much stuff as it is with out that thing! BUT....if it's going to get used I'll always make the accommodation.....be curious to see what the rest of you are thinking about it.
  6. Glad the storms passed everyone safely!! We'll be leaving out tomorrow for the long 2-3 hour trip from Nashville. I bought Susan a fishing shirt at BPS....it didn't fit just right so we'll be making an exchange stop at the Nashville BPS before leaving tomorrow. Does anyone need me to pick up any last minute items for them? Will be happy to oblige, just let me know. See y'all tomorrow afternoon....this is going to be a long day at the office!!
  7. I thought this was supposed to be a "FUN" fishing trip......I prefer not to go blind!!
  8. Here's what I'm thinking about bringing / throwing (I think they'll be relatively shallow mostly post spawn): Topwater - Buzzbait, Pop R Cranks - Sq Bills and some Series 5 type to get a little deeper if need be T Rig - Lizards, Baby Brush Hogs Jigs - 1/4 finesse jigs, 3/8 football jigs, shakey head Spinnerbait Grubs (incl menace) What is everyone else thinking?? Starting to get really fired up!!!
  9. You can use any brand of rod you want but you have to use a Shimano reel....otherwise they won't work. BTW...any rumors that a Lew's reel will work are false!!
  10. Just spray it on liberally the night before you go out. At least that's what I do and it works just fine.
  11. Susan and I are in for the banquet
  12. No problem....no apology necessary, I Kind of like "HIS LATEST SQUEEZE" but suspect that would have put us both in trouble. Actually she's a really good sport. I told her about all this and she had a good laugh.
  13. Smallies like grubs and they don't get used alot.....this could be the ticket...just sayin
  14. Not sure what Susan will do. She enjoys fishing but probably could be enticed by the other ladies to do some alternate activities. By the way (Long) Mike, she's my fiance, she likes that status as opposed to just the friend designation. The ladies seem to be particular about these things. Just sayin... This is pretty funny....took her crappie fishing last year, she had a great time but decided the Zebco 33 is the greatest reel ever (for her). Soooo...I bought her a couple pink ladies models and have one of them paired with a 6' St Croix Legend Elite Rod (I bought it years ago and seldom use it). Would like to hear Roadwarrior's commentary on the best uses for this combo....
  15. I have two Tournament Pros (I don't own nor have I tried any of the other Lew's models). These are my favorite two reels. All my other reels are Shimano or Daiwa which I really like but not as much as the Lew's.
  16. If you haven't heard enough to sell you, just buy a small order to try them. They will sell themselves and you will be back for more....guaranteed!!
  17. In TN on Percy Priest, water temp 48 -53, #5 Shad Raps, T rigged Craws, rattle traps and spinnerbaits. Usually they like jerk baits this time of year but no dice this year.
  18. Rage / Paca Craw, 6" Zoom Lizard, 7" ish worm all dipped in JJ's
  19. Susan and I will definitely be at the soiree......willing to help and donate!!
  20. Have a great trip Mike, be safe and catch a few Lunkers!! Looking forward to seeing you at Wilson.
  21. I use McCoy Mean Green on my spinning reels. Really like it but use FC on my baitcasters.
  22. I spray some on a cloth and let the line run thru it as I spool it on the reel. I also spray the line already on the reel before each outing. (it's OK if it gets on the reel)
  23. I've been using the KVD line conditioner for several years now and have been a big fan. I noticed BPS has come out with their own brand...cheaper and you get more. So I took a flier and tried it last weekend. Felt much thicker and certainly a bit greasy which is not the case with the KVD brand. After trying it I'm not a fan of the BPS brand (I'll continue to pay a bit more for the KVD brand).....just an FYI for what it's worth.
  24. I believe he is referring to the hash we used to covet so much back when we were hippies...
