  1. I use 6-12lb flouro leaders when im fishing heavily pressured lakes or clear water. If its murky/dirty water im using straight braid. For my leader knots i use the double-uni. Its the easiest knot for me to tie and i havent had one break yet, the knot held for the 10lb muskie i hooked last week
  2. Im gonna be the odd man out here and say i like throwing anything with an orange or yellow belly. Ive caught my biggest bass with orange belly sammies...
  3. After all the different braids and lines ive used ive finally got it down to a setup that works great for me. I only use spinning reels so my lines are... All my rods have 10lb power pro with 6/8/10/12 lb pline flouroclear leaders in green mist. Love that line, its a perfect match for the water i fish.
  4. 4.5 straight tail roboworm mean green & junebug/chart. tail My new go to worm, its actually funny i used to use these as a kid, the creme worms you get at walmart, they work, haha. I get the 4 inch and wacky rig it.
  5. Theres really only two jerkbaits i use now, the yozuri floating and suspending pins minnows. I use the floating for warmer weather and suspending for the cold. Im a jerkbait nut and have tried alot, but the yozuri's are awesome.
  6. x2 This is exactly how i am. I do fish alot of quarries where the water is crystal clear so i like to match the baitfish. I love baby bass, bluegill, and perch colors the best. If im fishing murky water thats where the whites and chart. colors come into play for me.
  7. I like the 1/2oz in sexy shad. My favorite lipless cranks though are the owner mira vibes. Baby bass is my go to color.
  8. My soft baits stay in the original package, and my hard baits are all in plano boxes which come inside after every fishing trip so theres no rust problems...
  9. <---- My pb last year at 6lbs. Couldnt beat it this year, best i did was just shy of 4lbs on a sammy 85. Did get my pb pickerel though at 3.6lbs on a bullfrog zara spook... Also got my pb trout at 16 inches, and it was delicious
  10. Theres so many great episodes, ive watched all them online, but a favorite is is when mikes fishing at central park and lands that chunky bass under the tree, good times
  11. I agree, heres my 2cents... Ive used power pro, super slick, berkley pro, fireline, nanofil, sufix performance, sufix 832, and spiderwire. When it comes down to it, the power pro, berkley pro, and sufix performance were all great and the cheapest. I like power pro the best because it also has yellow and red colors...
  12. Im a spinning guy as well. I bought a few nice bc setups to learn on, got proficient at it, and at the end of the day it wasnt my cup of tea. I enjoy fishing with superlight spinning rods/reels and have one heavy spinning combo for frogs/swimbaits... If your looking for either reel in the $150 range id recommend a curado e series for bc, and a stradic fj for spinning.
  13. I just put 10lb ghost on my sustain, i dont really like it. I definitely prefer power pro. Im in the same boat, dropped 20 on this and now ill be back dropping another 15 for power pro
  14. Id be buying one of these right now if it wasnt red, there on ebay now for $250 shipped...
  15. I like lunkerville alot, i watch all the episodes on the website.
  16. Congrats, nice fish
  17. Good read, i sit down and fish all the time on the boat, i need to start standing up more
  18. Yea you would think with the new cumara line coming out soon that the older ones would go on sale, i know tw sold out pretty quickly...
  19. I had the 7ft medium micro guide rod. No problems with the reel seat, but abu rods always feel 1 power stronger than there supposed to. I bought the medium cause the mh was like a broom stick...
  20. Thats awesome, the first text is hilarious.
  21. Only thing thats been working for me lately is lipless cranks, jerkbaits, and dropshot.
  22. Its a stress reliever, anytime i head to the water im instantly in a better mood. Motorcycles are the same for me. Once im geared up and out on the country roads its just you and the bike. Since i was a kid i was always into solo sports, skateboarding, bmx. I like sports where the only competition is yourself, but you can share it with friends. I have a few buddies i fish with and its always a good day even if we get the skunk, we always have a great conversation. I thank god everyday for fishing, its been a great way to recover from cancer. Its a chance to get outside and challenge myself and be one with nature.
  23. Topwater if its light rain, heavier rain ill go to plastics or spinnerbait...
  24. Thanks for the info everyone. I was thinking the same thing because im looking at the cumulus rod as well. TW pretty much sold out of the older cumaras, i really want the 6'8 mh spinning worm rod and i cant find one, not even on ebay... A few online dealers have them at full price though. Oh well thanks for the help.
