  1. Surprise: the yozuri pins minnow 2-3/4 jerkbait. The variety of fish from decent size bass, to chunky crappie, perch and pickerel, i love this bait, definitely my favorite jerkbait. Disappointment: Pretty much all live target crankbaits, ive had no luck with the perch, pumpkinseed, bluegills, crayfish and smallmouth bass. I ended selling them all on ebay, lol. I do better with r2s, rick clunn, sk cranks.
  2. I really like the keitech easy shiner, do pretty well with the 4inch on the swarming hornets and owner flashy swimmer. Im gonna order up some 5inch shiners next time at TW, really like the ayu and wakasagi colors.
  3. Im 5 minutes east of philly on the jersey side. We didnt get any damage, few people in the neighborhood had trees down. Im gonna be fishing tomm, hopefully the storm picked the bite up, its been slow for me....
  4. Exactly what i use now 1. shimano stradic fj1000 with fenwick elite tech smallmouth rod 6'3 medium - topwater/cranks 2. daiwa fuego 1000a with dobyns 682 champion 6'8 ml - dropshot/senkos/shakeyhead 3. shimano stradic ci4 2500 with dobyns coalition 704 - frog/swimbaits
  5. i have the 682 that i use for dropshots, senkos and shakey heads. Absolutely love this rod, have it paired with a daiwa fuego 1000a, its such a light combo.
  6. I only use spinning gear. In the past year ive bought two baitcasters, a curado and lews tourney pro and can say i got proficient with both. Just wasnt for me. Theres no difference in accuracy with a bc or spinning rod, like others have said its just practice in general. Ive been the most confident in my fishing now more than ever with spinning reels and braid.
  7. Im gonna pass on it, money is tight, and i do have my 6'3 fenwick smallie rod that takes care of biz.
  8. Im using a dobyns coalition 704 and really liking it for hollow body frogs, little stiff for horny toads though...
  9. Im half tempted to pull the trigger on the medium light and just see how it feels. I wonder where TW gets there lure weights from, quantum doesnt even have them listed on there website...
  10. Thanks for the info, they have a 6'3 medium light with moderate tip.... wish i could get my hands on one to try it out.
  11. Thanks, are they stiff like the veritas rods are ? I notice with them i go down a power because i think there too stiff at what there rated.
  12. Since these are on sale right now at TW, i was checking out the 6'3 medium and medium light spinning models. Has anyone handled these ? I searched and didnt find any information on those models. Wanted a little crankbait/topwater rod that could handle up to 1/2-5/8 oz cranks. Could anyone help me out, none of my local stores have these two in stock, thanks.
  13. Im looking at the 6'3 smoke rods on TW right now. Thought the lure weights were a little on the light side, 1/8-1/4oz for a 6'3 medium rod ? My 6'3 medium fenwick elite tech smallie rod is 1/8-3/4oz. I really want the medium light but curious about how much lighter it is over the medium, anybody handle these, none of the stores around here have them.
  14. Ive been using braid with flouro leaders. Frog/swimbait rod has 30lb power pro super slick, 12lb flouroclear leader for swimbaits Topwater/cranks rod has 15lb super slick, 8-10lb flouroclear leader for jerkbaits/cranks dropshot/senko rod has 10lb power pro, 6lb flouroclear leader
  15. Im in south jersey and its been slow for me as well. I went from catching a dozen bass a night on topwater, to 1 or 2 here and there on random cranks and dropshot. I think the water is turning over and its making the bass super lethargic. Im going to continue throwing lipless cranks, squarebills, topwater, jerkbaits, dropshot, and spinners. I gotta throw senkos, t-rigged worms, and swimbaits cause there the only baits i havnt used in a while...
  16. I have the 1000fj and have been liking it more than my 2500ci4. The xship makes it so smooth, awesome reel and theres some good deals on ebay from time to time.
  17. I agree with this, topwater fishing is my favorite. The blood starts pumping when i see that explosion, even if its a dink. I also love panfishing on ultralight gear, nothing puts up a fight up like a feisty yellow perch.
  18. I fish year round, and if we get a really cold winter in gonna try some ice fishing.
  19. I start with topwater, then go to cranks and jerkbaits, then if i still cant find them i go dropshot.
  20. i like zara puppy in bullfrog.
  21. I use 15lb braid, favorite colors are bullfrog, black shore minnow, and glitter minnow.
  22. topwater, dropshot, lipless cranks, and jerkbaits.
  23. gami #2 split shot/dropshot hook
  24. I fish a few quarries in south jersey, i always start topwater, then jerkbaits, then cranks, and if i dont get a bite i go to the drop shot which seems to always work.
  25. Theres two setups i always have tied on cause they produce so well. A sammy 85/100 and 4-1/2 mean green roboworm on dropshot.
