Catch And Release? What Are Your Thoughts?
You are looking at the wrong end of the equation. You need to be looking at the food end (bait fish) of the lake to even decide if it is overpopulated. If there is plenty of food, there is no issue of too many bass.

Has Anyone Used A Jig Like This?
They are an old style jig head from the 70's or 80's. When my Dad past I got his tackle box. He had a bunch of these, although just dingy gray looking. Those there look pretty sweet. I tried the ones I have with the 5" Gulp Leach nose hooked for walleyes. tey worked very well, but have never used them for bass.

If you had to choose one lure to fish??
The twister tail grub for me. I have caught bass, trout, panfish, walleye, pike, and drum on the thing.

Help With Organizing Soft Plastics!
I use the Plano 3700 waterproof boxes. I label the outside of the boxes tubes, creatures, worms, finesse, etc. you just grab the box you need and you can see all of them. By the time I get to a tournament I already know what my main baits are going to be from my practice time. I will then take some extra bags of those and keep bags and all in a deep Plano box to refill from. I will also have some extra bags in my truck in a Rubbermaid tub for multiple day tournaments or week long trips.

Was It Me Or Was The Classic Very Boring This Year.??
I thought outside of a couple good action shots (Martins fish slap, squirrels lost fish) the camera coverage was marginal at best. Guys were fishing and we were getting shots of rod handles and shoreline the angler was not fishing. Was to much war room coverage and lets get loud crowd. If I want to see Zona, I'll watch his show. What the anglers fishing have to say is much more interesting. The FLW shows I have been watching have had much better angler camera work. I thought Bassmaster shows 10 years ago were better than what we get these days. A lot more technical info was shown/given/ plus better angler conversations. The conversations were better because the people covering the different anglers asked the good questions!

Dear Lure Manufacturers:
If it bothers you so much, go buy some Rapala's, they have no orange. Mean while I will keep adding orange to my cranks and catching fish.

What's A Good Spring Time Rig For Smallies In Nh Waters?
We ave a lot of rocky water to fish here. One very good bait is the simple ball head jig with a twister tail. Slowey swim it over the rocks occasionally bouncing of the rocks. They come in every color imaginable, even mixed colors. You will just have to figure which colors work best on your lake.

Alabama Rigs
After the way the owners of the original have acted towards kids on u-tube, I would not buy the original. Any of the knock offs or get your self some piano wire and make your own.

Curado Or Revo Sx?
I just compared those two at BPS today. i was killing some time before a seminar and decided to handle both. First I will say I am a Revo Premiere person. I liked the smoothness of the SX better, but liked the weight of the Curado in my hand. Both had a solid feel to them and both have $30 rebates. But with the Revo you also get a cool fishing shirt!! I do not think you can go wrong with either one. I would get the Revo, but I now know why people like their Curado's.

The Effectiveness Of The Alabama Rig
The thing is just a tool for certain situations. It is no different than the "idiot bait" the Senko style lures that made everyone a bass fisherman. The world will not end!!! A couple of very accomplished fishermen gave them a work out last fall during our schooling season with mixed results. Some days they were good, some days not. A lot will depend on your lake and what they prefer to forage on. Guys have been using these rigs in the northeast coastal areas for stripers and ocean fishing and it has not decimated their sport, bass fishing will survive as well. I will be making several of these to use during the season. One, because I am not paying $25 for a $6 bait. Two, we have to be able to adjust it, we share waters that do not allow you to throw five baits (Champlain, Canada). So I will have to make some with 4 baits and some with two baits in order to legally use it. Unless for some reason tournaments around here follow suit with BASS and ban it, not sure why they would. If they do, then I will throw my do nothing worms In the end if an adjustment needs to be made the Department of Environmental Conservation (in our area) and tournament directors will make the needed changes to sustain our sport. In the mean time, chuck and wind those babies, and if you are a co-angler in the back of the boat....DUCK

Anyone Really Familiar With Bps Trade In During Classic?
Like Hooligan said you can only trade in one reel for each reel purchased. They must be in good working condition because they will be donated to youth groups. The trade in value is determined by the price of the item you are buying, not by what you are trading. For example: Reel Price - 129.99 Sale Price - 109.97 Trade Coupon - -$20 (the reel you want from $100 - 119.99 = $20 coupon, $75 - $99.99 = $15 coupon etc.) It sounds like you would be better off keeping your reels and finding some Zebco 202's. They also will have some cheap reels you can buy to trade in as well ($5 - $10). This way a kid gets a brand new reel and you can still save a chunk of change on the more expensive reels. The rod trade in works in the same manner.

Bass Pro Shops , Cabelas, Dicks Sporting Goods
BPS (1 hour away) best selection, a couple good sales a year, good group of people working there, they sponsor some of the trails I fish and my Jr Bassmasters Club so they get my business! All Seasons Sports (1.5 hours mom and pop) buy all my steelhead fishing supplies from them when I chase the stream monsters of the Salmon River Dicks (3 within 30-40 minutes) - used to go to all the time when they had the never ending bargain bins and larger selection. Now they don't have the bins, just one big sale after Christmas. Very little selection. Gander (40 minutes away) - once in a while, very average selection for being the store they are and very few sales. Not to mention they are always moving the fishing department around so you can't even find things from one trip to the next. Walmart (6 within 30 minutes) - used to go often, then the fishing departments got rid of everything, so I quit going. Now they are all of sudden getting some higher end stuff in - we'll see. Cabelas (5 hours away) went once and they had very little for fishing gear. Great mounts room, trout stream and bargain cave though.

Evinrude E-Tec
I have that motor, but from 06. I love my motor and have had no problems. All companies have problems and a lot of those problems occur when you get above 200hp. On my boat type (Stratos 294) you can run mid 70's all day, hole shot is awesome, and it is super quiet. If it is a 2005 ask to see the maintenance records, there should be two sets from the 3-yr intervals. Also have a certified E-tec mechanic look at it for you.

Opinions On These Boats, First Time Buyer
I think you may find the boat under powered with that motor. A friend of mine had the same boat with a 70 and thought it was good but wished he had more power.

Got Bps Flyer Today
I decided I have too much stuff. There were a couple things I needed, but all in all not much there. A lot of rebates rather than straight sales and half the flerr was clothes this year.

Citica Or Pro Qualifier
If you are buying new just try both out on the rod you will be using. If you have to, take your rod with you. People give good reviews on both, so it is going to depend on which one fits our hands the best. There are a lot of good reels out there these days at all price points and people tend to buy whats hot at the time instead of what is comparable and fits them best. That fit will make a huge difference in how that reel feels for sensitivity and how it works for you. Especially when you are tournament fishing and casting/cranking a 1000 times a day. It is amazing what a difference a well balanced and good fit set up makes to your finger joints, wrists, arms, and shoulders under those conditions.

New Carbonlite Reel
Were they the orange/gold carbonlite reels or the new black model?

You guy's should have waited. Those reels are going to be on sale in a couple weeks and you can get them down to $89 with a reel trade in. The spinning reel will probably be on sale too.

What Size Split Rings For A Jika Rig?
My Dad used to fish this rig for carp with what I will call a pencil lead no snag type of weight. Not sure if that is what the weight is called. He would catch giant carp and never had trouble with line breakage by the split ring. The weight would drag through the silt, not get snagged, and would stir up the soft bottom and attract the fish. I have some he made back when in a tackle box he left me, never thought to use them for bass.

Given The Option...
I have Revo Premieres and a couple Pro Qualifiers. My friends who have the SX love them. But for the money it is hard to beat the Pro Qualifiers. And at the end of the month you will be able to get a great deal on either of those two reels at the BPS reel Trade - in. The Pro Qualifier may also be on sale on top of the trade in deal.
