  2. Good day fishing Great East today. no monsters but plenty of 2-3 lb fish with the biggest at 3 1/2 pounds. several were caught on a rock pile in the main lake and most of the rest in the second basin. Tackle, this is what worked well. 1/2 ounce black swim jig with a yamamato psycho dad craw (black with either red or blue flakes) Homemade Chatterbait black head 3/8 a white perch skirt and a 4" keitech fat impact gold flash swimbait attached Wacky rigged Bass pro shops 5 3/8 stick-o worms pumpkin green with blue flake and texas smoke for colors
  3. Cant wait to go out and fish Great East Weds It's going to be a tough day bluebird sky near 90 with humidity but bring it on! Heavy cover bank fishing and channel fishing will be the plan of attack for me.
  4. Yes I did fish Horn Pond after using my truck battery to start my big motor because I forgot to check my batteries the day before. It was slow going the whole time I was there. A dozen fish total biggest in the boat was @2lbs but lost a good 5 pound fish right next to the boat as I was struggling to get the net by myself. I talked to the locals and they said that fishing has been really off the last two weeks there. What worked for me was jigging the known rock piles in the pond both up the top and just past the launch channel. Chatter bait worked on the second rock pile that holds all the cabbage. Wacky rigged senko's skipped very deep under docks picked up a couple I was there from 7:30 till 1:30. Hope this helps and welcome to the group.
  5. I remember doing a tournament many years back and a bass spit up a chipmunk in the weigh in bag because it was in the fish it had to be weighed with the fish. Glad it wasn't my bag. Also witness a bass ambush some ducklings before getting one for a meal.
  6. Finally going out fishing Tuesday after a two week wait. Will be hitting Horn pond for some de-stressing therapy with some lunkers I hope.
  7. Been hearing from a bunch of my angler buddies who are lucky enough to have time off to fish. They have found the lake temps are way down, almost 10 degrees lower now compared to last year temps at this time of year, any one else seeing this?
  8. I always have a tube rigged up either black with blue flakes or pumpkinseed green, depends on the depth I fish. I also have them rigged with a rattle hook.
  9. Cool Drone shot from last week of me on Great East.
  10. Did Lovell lake for a few hours before all the storms started to come in. We basically fished in front of a cabbage line in 8-12 ft of water with jigs and chatter baits and picked up a couple dozen 2-4 pound fish before the lightening started. This was my biggest at 4.3 today. Once the boat was on the trailer we went to the pub across the street and watched it downpour with some beer in our hands.
  11. While getting ready to head out fishing on Great East last Thursday a gentleman asked if it was OK to shoot some pictures of my boat on the lake from his aerial drone. Today he emailed me the picture looks pretty cool to see how things look from a height of 200 feet up. He said he will send me more pictures soon. You need to see this on a large screen viewing on a phone doesn't look right. https://plus.google.com/+JimHarrington/posts/ez8FzqcKNeA?pid=6043087213597126034&oid=104688579048759425474
  12. First full day off in three weeks thursday I will be fishing Lovell lake. And when I'm done fshing it helps to have Poor Peoples Pub right across the street to finish the day off right.
  13. Has anyone heard how the fishing is on Winni? Thinking of heading out of either Winter Harbor or Lee's Mills Thursday if the wind isn't to bad.
  14. Don't worry about the picture worthy stuff put up what looks good to you I certainly don't catch the biggest. Half the time the picture I put up happens to be the clearest shot I have. Hoping to get out someday again but working on 20 days straight till Thursday.
  15. Did 4 hours of fishing on Greateast lake today caught over 30 bass the biggest 4.6 the majority were caught skipping senkos into deep tree cover. Jigs worked for the known channels and chatterbaits caught the ones roaming around the weeds only caught one on a top water frog.
  16. Just read the news about two people being rescued on Lake Sunapee because they were thrown out of their boat hitting a wake at high speed "the boat continued to circle till it hit rocks" for the love of all who's holy please wear the kill switch on you.
  17. At this time of year I have always had luck fishing any of the islands on the sides that are against the middle of the lake if you go in the morning hit the docks. But I have not fished it in two years because its a pain to launch a big boat by myself there. The water is very very clear.
  18. My buddy uses these on all his rods he is very confident using them and they really do float. http://lunaseasports.com/
  19. I have always trusted Interstate batteries for my boat. Needing four for my boat, three to run my 36vt trolling motor alone I cant afford to have one not take a charge. I have been using these for years. Dover Marine is where I get mine.
  20. Never know what you might find out on the water. This was Mousam Lake, ME. My fishing partner Cosmo.
  21. Working today will be out Sunday with my dad
  22. Recent trip down Mousam Lake this is my first video I made with my video sports camera.
  23. I have have all the extras for my maxxum 101 cant tell you how many times I have had to take the prop off because it gets tangled up with fishing line somebody decided to throw into the water. Just the thought of losing a nut sends shivers down my spine.
  24. Welcome to the forums KingZ I'm from the seacoast also. You have a bunch of options around Dover, Head west you have Bow Lake, Swains, Medums Pond and Nippo to name a couple then if you go north you have Lily Pond, Ayers pond, Baxter Lake and Milton 3 ponds. All of these are small bodies of water perfect for Kayak when you get the new racks. I'm sure there will be more suggestions on here. Don't forget the striper fishing also around Dover,
  25. Last tournament for me and it will be on Lake Arrowhead, Maine Sunday. This lake can produce some big bags but this tournament is a 5 fish limit per team. possible 25lb bag or more can win it. I have done it for a lunker tournament before. the biggest at 7lbs. I think chatterbaits and jigs will be the top choice for me.
