  1. I place 4th or 6th out of 8 anglers.. I did a few man powered no purse tournaments. Wasn't a real tourney though. Just a few of kayakers having fun.
  2. Mine would have to be a Bomber A.. Or a POP-R.
  3. I've only owned the Cranking Sticks, am I missing out?
  4. I'm learning the jig, and deep 20+ cranks.
  5. x2, I've heard people at my local tackle shop talk about this.
  6. Well guys, I compared my Spriex Rear Drag to a Spirex Front Drag, the front drag IS better.. Easier to maintain and such.. I kinda like to fight the fish so the rear drag DOES make that easier, but if you set the front drag you don't need to play the drag.. So I'm gonna play around with front drags, and maybe I'll change my mind, I'm used to 80/90's shimanos with the RD, just gotta adjust.
  7. A Daiwa Strikeforce or Shimano Caius are great beginner reels, well made and last a long time.
  8. Good post RW, do you own any old Shimano GT-X's?
  9. Pflueger is very very reliable, I have all the Pflueger spinning reels and they have never let me down. You should pick one up sometime.
  10. For me it's like mono, I'll usually use it for cranking and heavy stuff.. I use 90's Suffix Copolymer ( I have a 2000yard roll )
  11. possible... Check the schematics and then search the spring and clutch wheel on Mikes Reel Repair site, you can order the parts there. Or from DVT, I don't know if he has a parts catalog. It's probably the clutch wheel that's causing you the problem, especially if it's a cranking reel- winch.
  12. Clutch wheel? Check to see if it has wear.
  13. It's your clutch wheel, order a new one, they cost about 3-6$. The clutch wheel can wear down after a while. It's the most popular part that needs replacing in baitcasting reels, I replace the clutch wheels in all my BCs every winter. At least that's what I think... Don't hold me on it. DVT knows for sure.
  14. I fish all day 3 days a week sometimes 4
  15. The patriarch is an amazing reel but the XT SURPREME handles just as well.
  16. That's gotta make you panic, especially with the wife on board in the fog.
  17. thanks for your reply but I know for a fact there is structure around the standing timber, I have a lowrance.
  18. The Clarus is a fairly good do it all rod.
  19. It's good line, better than Stren Braid. Heck I have Zebco Braid on my old Blackmax, I still to this day can't find that combo, it must be in my closet somewhere.
  20. I buy those too man, I'm just saying I prefer those two bait companies. I agree, you can't get feedback like that from many companies. Gotta love rage.
  21. Interesting guys, I like my drag in the back because a can adjust it faster, maybe I should learn to adjust front drags faster.
  22. They sell those tubes at Ken's tackle shop, I bought a pack of tubes. Haven't used em yet.
