  2. Welcome to bass fishing....
  3. A Chinese man wielding a ladle, a round broad with kankels and an axe to grind, and Gus Malzahn walk into Raider's living room.......
  4. Maybe he learned his lesson. I know if I were to bite a cat with too much hair I wouldn't want to bite it again.
  5. You beat me to it! Denzel Washington Sophie Dee
  6. Again, the backup is something they install for saltwater use. It had no added benefit for freshwater. It has zero effect in or out. I think it made mine smoother but i am well versed in tuning. He wont notice any added or decreased benefit by leaving it out. Again,op, if its clicking, throw it in the trash and move on if you don't fish saltwater.
  7. You can (and I do) pitch every bait I use. When flipping, the reel is necessary, but is essentially just something that holds line as you are doing all the work manually When pitching, I'm pretty particular because I do it a lot. I want a spool that starts up with almost no effort. My favorite spool for pitching that I've used is the Daiwa RCS1016. You want something that is very comfortable and balances well on your rod as you will be holding it a lot of the times all day.
  8. It's a good thing the OP asked about your saltwater history with shimano and daiwa spinning reels or this post would make absolutely no sense. It seems like you've cracked the code on the mysterious AR pawl. Shimano must be using "cheap" AR bearings...Not that it matters since you don't want to look it up yourself and just assume a company that isn't "yours" uses cheap parts, but the purpose of the secondary AR is for salt water use. It's useless for freshwater as it's very unlikely that it will fail in freshwater.
  9. I've never used the MB line but I've used the LTB a few years ago. I believe the model you're looking at is LTBS610mlxf. They don't make a 610mlf spinning rod in the LTB line.I don't personally like the newer LTB but some do. I currently use last years cork legend xtreme 69mlxf. It is the most favorite spinning rod i've ever owned. I'd be looking at the MB line personally. You don't hear much negativity about their line of rods.
  10. Many snows ago I broke an Ugly stick on a cast. True story.
  11. One uses a casting reel (trigger) and the other uses a spinning reel.
  12. I think you meant < 50$. The lightning rod is probably pretty tough to beat in that price range.
  13. I hate braided line. Braid is the only line i would even consider using for frogs.
  14. Yes. It only serves as a back up. The problem is if your AR bearing does fail, you aren't using the reel anyway until you replace it. I removed every AR pawls in mine. . It make the reel smoother as well . They are notorious for clicking if you put the in wrong or just go bad. Take it out and pitch it in the trash.
  15. So let me get this straight..... That post was directed at (you said "you" so i'm assuming it was directed at somebody specifically..) either Hootie or myself (still not quite clear since you quoted both of our posts..) in which NEITHER of us have said a word in this thread (or even argued with you...) defending our stance on rods with you..? Ok...that makes total sense.
  16. *That moment somebody doesn't realize the posts were about him...*
  17. Im assuming he's going to say duckett. Shocker i know... Let it go JG. These posts just turn into giant joke arguing about how their favorite color is potato after 2 pages anyway
  18. Karu VibraShock. 3/8oz Shad or Black/Purple Reel slow enough to feel blade move Catch fish.
  19. Agree. I've never been left wanting more from my DX series rods and I own an NRX. The savvy series though....it's best left for moving baits. It has "feel" but for the price the return isn't really there and I love Dobyns rods.
  20. So if I watched this video correctly, (and I think I did), he makes a cast in the distance of X creating line twist. He then cast the same exact distance (for the sake of argument and his description, we will assume he did this), flipped the spool and removed the line twist from the portion of the line cast out after the initial cast. The issue I believe I'm seeing with that is what if your next cast is longer/shorter than the previous (Which is almost certainly will be)? The "excess" line on the longer cast will then have line twist due to the spool flipping and/or the shorter cast portion of line that wasn't cast out originally will retain its line twist and inherently stay and continue to be twisted because it wasn't cast out exactly the same or duplicated on the initial and second cast to remove the line twist. Wouldn't this cycle repeat itself over and over creating twist upon twist?
  21. The last thing the raiders are doing as of late is rebuilding. If they are, they are doing it 1-2 players at a time. The raiders are where players go to die.
  22. The Craw fatty, subwoofer, and bottom hopper are fantastic baits. The beat shad was the biggest P.O.S I've ever used.
  23. They might go 2-14 and I'm seriously being generous. I can see them putting up a fight week 8 vs CLE and MAYBE week 4 vs MIA. Might upset San Diego one of the two again but I doubt it. Oakland has a RIDICULOUSLY hard schedule this year it's almost not funny. My Wifes a Raiders fan. No idea why. Jets Texas Patriots Dolphins Bye Chargers Arizona Browns Seahawks Broncos Chargers Chiefs Rams 49s Chiefs Bills Broncos
