  1. Id honestly try stroking a football /hair jig or red eye shad before a spoon but i would 100% use a spoon at some point.
  2. Is your name Jared Kiernan?
  3. i would not use the 734 or the 735. The 734, while versatile as versatile can get, doesn't really have the power you're looking for for deep heavy hook FB jigs but has the right tip. The 735 could work but it just doesn't have the qualities i want in a FB rod. It's my favorite frog rod though. I'd look at either the Champ 764 or the DX784.
  4. you stole that combo. nice job.

Agree. There is never a bad time to throw a shad rap. The sr7 has probably caught more fish across the world than any crankbait.
  6. I use stickjackers, rod gloves and the DSG rod jacket. If a rod isn't in use or laying on my deck, it's got one on.
  7. Yes you can use it. If you're in heavy slop, it is too weak.
  8. Huh? You're getting closer...that almost made sense...almost. Well there's the pot calling the kettle black. Don't let us down.
  9. For 2 months straight of bass fishing..... There's no way I'd choose a 4oz castmaster spoon... Banjo Minnow all the way.
  10. They really overhauled the triumph for this series.. It's more or less a glorified lightning rod at this point.
  11. that rod will work fine for what you want it to.
  12. Its been a while since I've had to order it. I ordered something around 50 pieces of tungsten and my shipping was roughly 5-6$ from alleys. So i came out way ahead
  13. 9$ for a 3 pack is ridiculous..buy from sieberts or alleys tungsten. You will pay around 4$ and under per 3
  14. Why not post a picture of the reel...

All that is is something that Norton is unsure what it is "exactly" so it assumes it's some sort of malware/virus. It isn't and you're fine.
  16. Search function. This topic has been beat to death http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/141227-why-use-50-pound-braid/?hl=%2Bwhy+%2Bheavy+%2Bbraid
  17. I'm not affiliated /w these guys 30% off rods/20% off reels. (includes the shimanos/loomis/st croix/*** they have in stock-ci4+/core/chronarch) Free shipping over 75$ Use promo code SUMMER http://www.joessportinggoods.com/sale/midsummer-sale-july-24-27-pg781.htm
  18. x2 Sometimes I'll get a little crazy and throw White Ice.
  19. Thanks professor.....Why don't you show us your flipping set up with just a piece of line tied to your rod then!....I see what you're getting at but unless you're not using a reel, that did absolutely nothing to help and just came off as arrogant. To the OP, just get something that's comfortable to hold and feels good on your rod. Unless you're Tom, most of us use reels when flipping and comfort, for me, is the most important aspect to a flipping set up since you're going to be going through the same exact motion for the most part for possibly hours on end. I prefer 50 size shimanos if you go the shimano route.
  20. The Palomar is not an efficient knot for fluorocarbon lines. Albeit it works for the most part, it's been proven time after time it is not the most efficient or even close to the strongest knot to use Agree Completely untrue.(I'm not even a huge advocate of using it or everything like some but I do understand how it works and the benefits to it. If you don't understand how KVD Line and Lure works on lines, namely fluorocarbons, don't give the OP nonsensical information to which you haven't been educated yourself on. Agree. I don't use cheap fluorocarbons but XPS isn't that bad. You don't need to adjust your brakes if you use KVD line and Lure correctly just one time.
  21. I haven't checked yet ( I will tomorrow) but I hear Storm Arashi's are back on the buy one get one free offer.
  22. I use 6# suffix 832 high vis yellow walleye fishing /w 3/32, 1/8 3/16 and 1/4oz jig + plastic. finesse fishing /w braid can be done very easily.
