  1. it's a 7'4H/F the tip is more in between F and XF. fantastic for pitching.
  2. i would guess it would catch everything in there. should have a field day with one.
  3. i use the 1/16 and 1/8 for stream trout. black/gold or silver/black /w orange hair. great little baits that have a fantastic blade that never fails. they aren't a tough bait. each and every time out the wire on mine bends in one direction or another after a few fish but they sure do work.
  4. a longer rod gives you more leverage to get fish out of cover. it picks more line when detecting a bite which will help you hook the bass.also allows you to pitch a greater distance at a much easier rate than with a shorter rod. i should say before you get the people in here that will say they can pitch just as far as anybody else /w a 6'6 rod the person with a longer rod will exert so much less effort pitching the same distance. I pitch a lot more than i flip. im very comfortable doing it /w a 7'4 rod. very accurate /w this length as well.
  5. chronarch 51mg. i'll never let this die.
  6. chart shad is a great one. american shad is a great one no matter the water as well.
  7. i use a 68mxf rod and a 51 size shimano for jerkbaits. i prefer 10# fluoro right now but that's based on the waters i fish and how i want the bait to work. i prefer 10# mono over 12# when i use mono.
  8. bluecraw/magic craw

  10. exactly. the turned in equipment goes to a good cause.
  11. i'm by no means trying to sound come off rude but if you search the topic there is more info on this specific subject then you could want.
  12. St. Croix unfortunately suspended their trade up program for the better part of a year now i guess. kind of a shame but hopefully they will reinstate it soon. You would think they would put these "abundance" of used rods in their bargain cave too..
  13. i would think that the cumara would win in that situation. odd that a rod that's almost a foot shorter excels in distance. perhaps the 7' has a more moderate taper than the cumara. i don't use either of that brand of rods so i'm not sure. kind of basic advice but did you clean the spool bearings out on the winch? loosen up the brakes and knob on the reel and let it rip. when "bombing" lures, you'll get some loops on the line mid cast but if the bearings are running correctly /w the brakes on a long cast, the line will even itself out towards the end.
  14. not as much as you would like it to in this situation. you are better off, especially during colder water temps, to use flat sided crank baits as they produce much less wobble than your non flat sided.
  15. Dobyns savvy 735c shimano curado 201e7 65# suffix 832 i prefer the xf tip for fishing frogs.
  16. Sunline fc sniper seaguar tatsu
  17. It was st. croix for the longest time until i bit the bullet and tried Dobyns. i've since replaced the majority of my rods with Dobyns.
  18. always thread them on
  19. the St. Croix MM small cranker /w a 51 shimano would be great for throwing the shad raps and spinners you mentioned. the kvd 1.0 would be very easy as well. I can throw them quite a ways on a st. croix MHM /w a 51 curado.
  20. the other two are moss green and high vis yellow. yellow is the easiest for me to see but i use braid for something else.
  21. fish are gorging themselves on available forage in the fall getting ready for the winter transition. you can catch some fatties in the fall.
  22. the 704 would be perfect. anything heavier i prefer the 745
  23. i use the st. croix legend xtreme 69mlxf for both shakey heads and dropshots. no issues. love the rod.
