  1. Big fan of his show. great energy.
  2. Not personally, no. The general feedback for the reel is less than positive. There are very few that like and/or recommend the reel.
  3. Google japan tackle or jdm shimano/diawa. Theres tons of places.
  4. LC pointer 78 and 100. Ill be trying the kvd slashbait and giving the stx a fair shot this spring too.
  5. I've never attempted to topwater fish during cold water periods in your and my area.however, i have caught countless pre spawn bass in 2 foot or less of water pitching jigs for walleye or throwing flat sided squarebills in the same area. They are there but i don't know how the topwater bite will be. worth a try i guess.
  6. Wintertime sales. To be fair, I don't need to buy an awful lot during the warmer months of the year but come winter, the cycle just repeats itself.
  7. I've lost the same 5# prespawn large mouth two days in a row pitching the same jig in the same exact spot two consecutive days. Each time it bite on the initial drop on the first cast and wouldn't hit anything for the rest of the day. Going back a couple hours later it was still not a taker. I took 2 days off, went back and landed her again in the same spot with the same jig. She did not bite again prior to spawning.
  8. I night fish almost exclusively in the spring....for walleye. TWO MORE WEEKS TILL OPEN RIVER WATER
  9. I would buy your shaving kit if you told me to.
  10. I don't own either but I believe the consensus is the 715 is the best jig rod in the recon line up.
  11. I believe the guides on that rod are built for braid. That isn't to say you can't fish fluoro or mono on it but you also won't have issues other inexpensive rods have with braid.
  12. It isn't "permanent" but it holds very well. It takes a while before I have to reapply it.
  13. Spike-it makes markers just like their dye that has the same garlic odor. That's what I was referring to. They come in chart, blue, red, orange (all come in one pack) Really handy for adding colors to crank baits as well. Dying the bait is quicker with the liquid but the spike-it markers are more precise and not as dirty. Both look the same when finished.
  14. I use spike it more so because it's readily available to me. It has seemed to be the difference in bites or not when dipping tails or pinches in the stuff. Towards the end of last season I started using the markers more so than the liquid dye with the same results and liked how much cleaner using them was. That stuff really stains the hands and then the cork on the rod if you don't let it dry.
  15. 3/8 oz custom football head, magic craw hand tied skirt, Okeechobee craw or magic craw rage craw trailer
  16. For me personally, it's a football jig.
  17. cumara or avid. the reel would be just personal preference.
  18. I can't imagine it's worth the hassle unless you are content on carrying as little as possible i guess. i switch rods/reels not spools.
  19. green pumpkin/watermelon new one this year that i have high hopes for -sprayed grass candycraw
  20. OE, or anybody for that matter, if you have the chance to fish the 6/2 or 10/3 I'd like to hear your thoughts on it vs 832.
  21. The 735, while it is a fantastic frog rod for slop with a lot of backbone, would be underpowered for 1 1/2oz swimbaits. I would opt for the 766.
  22. Zoom trick worms (no salt), robo worms and rage baby craws.
  23. Dick's seems to carry an abundance of these after having a clearance sale and not restocking LC pointers and I couldn't figure out why......classic bait...go figure The thing that intrigued me was it's very shallow diving depth which would be great for the shallow rip rap that floods on the river. Has anybody used these that can comment on how well it suspends or rolls/doesn't roll or sinks/rises?
  24. The elaztech plastics float and float very well. The dream shot doesn't float. It doesn't really sink either like many plastics that have salt. It slowly sinks. It is a phenomenal bait to cast drop shots though. Great action. Really glad the Dick's near me carries them.
