Can You Frog On A Jig Rod?
There are a lot of people around various message boards that love the 735 for frogging. I'm sure the 734 would do just fine for frogs. The savvy line would not be something I consider a jig rod personally but other opinions may vary.

New Rod Idea
ESP ultra lite or power lite in 6'6-7'. Really like this rod for steam trout.

Veritas Vs Mojo Bass
It really feels like people expect way too much for a 100$ rod.

St. Croix Legend Xtreme?
The new LTB is a nice rod. However, a few of their rods in the series are incredibly tip heavy. the 7'1 MH/F for example is a fine rod but it is one of the most tip heavy rods in the series. i've put 9.5oz reels on it just to see if it made a difference and it still felt god awful. I felt the 7'3 was a bit tip heavy but not terribly. I've sold most of my legend tournaments due to the fact that they just aren't comfortable in comparison to the upper end st. croixs and have mostly xtremes/NRX/dobyns as of now. The two rods that I won't switch however are the 2012 7'MF and the 2012 7' MHM. Love these rods to death in the tournament series.

St. Croix Legend Xtreme?
Some of the 2012 xtremes were tip heavy. Not nearly as bas ss the LTB though. The new 2013 xtremes(even though heavier) dont feel that heavy as they are much more balanced. As with the other xtremes, they are very sensitive.

St. Croix Legend Xtreme?
Im a big fan of the xtremes. If you looking at just weights around 1/4 then the 7mf would be a better choice. Not to mention the 7mf is the most versitle rod inthe line up. You can throw 1/4 on the mh easily but if your sticking with 3/16-1/4 id use a M xtreme. The new xtremes with st. Croixs custom grip (feels nothing like the rage thankfully) are very well balanced.

Filppin & Pitchin Rod?
100% this. If money isn't an issue, the SCV blank is about as good as it gets for custom rod building. Contact Mattman at otterods. He will build you a thing of beauty on that blank for a little more than the cost of the actual St. Croix Xtreme flipping stick.

Right Hand Fisherman: What Success In Reeling With Left?
Im right handed. All my baitcasting and spinning set ups reel reel with my left hand. Just feels natural casting with the right not switching hands.

Lmg Is Gonna Hate Me And I Have $260 In Cart
If the reel is going to be used for deep cranking then the winch will be a better fit for you. Anything else though im using the chronarch. The winch is a very easy reel to cast. Im a huge shimano fan but if im doing any deep cranking im using a winch.

12 lb is fine. I use 10 on one and 12 on two others.

G.loomis Imx Vs. St.croix Ltb
Ya that rod is a bit unbalanced. The 7'h imx would balance better and serve you just the same.

Ok Shimano, Lets Get The Curado G50 Rolling.
Wouldn't you just rather spend 30 more dollars and get a chronarch.....

G.loomis Imx Vs. St.croix Ltb
I'd have to agree with ww2. Both fish in terms of sensitivity are on par with each other. There are a few LTB (7'1MHF for example) in the new "upgrade" that is so tip heavy it is almost a disgrace to the series. Really uncomfortable to fish. The IMX series does balance well but i still prefer most of the LTB line as I like split grips and the few LTB that I have left I'm keeping because they balance perfectly and fish exactly how I want. If would really depend on which LTB I'd be trading. What ones are you thinking about trading from/to? I fish/fished a lot of them.

Chronarch Or Curado 50/51 Questions
I doubt hes going to make a video for you about tying leaders when hundreds are available over the internet. A minute may be a stretch for you time frame of start to finish with getting the spool out, tying the leader, lure etc. The only time i use a leader is with a spinning set up and light line requiring more wraps and a little more attention to the knot. The entire process easily takes under 3 minutes once you get proficient with knots. If you want to use a line that is 15# or heavier on a curado series then you will be a lot happier with a 200 series reel. I own quite a few 200/50e curados and while i have put larger fluoro on a 50, it was taken off and put back on a 200 basically for line capacity. If you are limiting yourself to this one reel for w/e technique you are using Rh n you will probably go through quite a bit of the sppol each trip retying lure/jigs with 15-20lb line where with a 200 you will not. Really the only way you will get a set up with a 50e curado using 15-20lb test that wont be a headache is using braid with a fluoro leader. You will hardly go through much braid usikg a leader and if you tie a 6-8 foot leader properly it will most likely never break at the connection. I cant remember the last time mine broke using 6lb 832 to a 7lb leader..

Chronarch Or Curado 50/51 Questions
the 200e has no issues throwing 1/4oz baits on 12lb fluoro. The 50 would still be a better option.

Chronarch Or Curado 50/51 Questions
I use 15lb fluoro one one of my 51s and have no issues with it. You wnt spool every cast or gwt close unless you are usng 1oz weights and fey ng to huck it a mile.

Silent Red Eye Shad
I picked up a few silent traps for a private pond that is heavily pressured and they seemed to do the trick earlier in the summer. I use silent squarebills on the river a lot in dirty water with good success. Sometimes a rattle with help though. It never hurts to carry both.

Anyone Keep Their Gear In Their Car?
I dont care how convenient it is to keep all my rods/reels/tackle in my vehicle. Ive paid lots of money for my equipment and it all comes in the garage or man cave with me after locking the boat up.

That's cool. Let's just rain on somebody's parade because they appreciate enthusiast fishing equipment and choose to spend their own money on something they love.

Vintage Soft Plastics?
My fiance's father was going through an old room of his and came across a few old, dirty plano tackle boxes. He let me have them and they were filled with some unique plastics that look great in colors that I always use. I THINK these are Mann's old old plastics but i'm not sure. These lures have definitely been sitting in a room for over 10-15 maybe 20 years. All of them have the unique "out of the bag plastic texture" . The craw in the middle is what caught my attention the most. Seems to have great action and adds some nice bulk to jig. The twister tail on the left has it's tail attached to the body by a small strip. that can be tore and cut. Actually, all of the plastics that are twisters come like that. If any of you know what brand of bait's these are I'm really curious to find out how old they are and where they came from. It doesn't look like any of the plastics have hardly been used. Most have 10 or more of each.
