  1. If possible can you post a picture of the head design from the front of their 1/4 swim jig? I'm looking for a company with plain swim jig heads for my own skirts and i'm very particular about the head/line tie
  2. These are the three main patterns I use in squarebills and lipless cranks. Spring time I will also have a natural american shad/silver black back. Rest of the year it's those three. Jerkbaits are usually clown, deadly black, pro blue, bone and american shad. poppers are firetiger, shad, black and sometimes gold/black
  3. If you run them over your fingernail and there is any sort of resistance they are sharp.
  4. Baby brush hog
  5. Yes that is completely normal. When the drag is fairly loose, the spool will not turn or reengage. This should only be happening when you are able to pull the line out very easily. if there is any amount of drag pressure then the spool should be engaging.
  6. yup. that's how I use them. I do use them weightless over shallow grass as well.
  7. Welcome to the forum. I'm just a few pools below you. My home waters are pools 11 and 12 and i frequent 9 and 10.
  8. the ML would be perfect for the jig sizes your are throwing. i throw 3/32-5/16 jig plastics/hair jigs on a 69mlxf xtreme and it handles them perfectly.
  9. in certain models they offer 500 series reels.
  10. I would be hard to argue the PQ wasnt their best seller based on its popularity alone. Dont know unless we saw the numbers though.
  11. You may have a bad spool. It happens unfortunately. The only stren that i could recommend is stren magnathin. I only use this in 4# for stream trout and it is incredibly strong.
  12. With the amount of accidents and fatalities we had on the river this past year you would have been commended for stopping. Pretty bad call on the directors part.
  13. Ci4 of the FJ. Either one is a great choice.
  14. Love gold plated BfishN tackle blades. I only use them for walleye though but will get the occasional smallmouth on them on shallow sand and rock.
  15. Those are the only hooks I use and I've never had an issue with them. Aaron Martens takes the same hooks and bends them out just slightly and says he has better hook ups than he's ever had. Maybe try that.
  16. Here's the only info I've found on it so far. The bait looks good but changing out hooks and getting the bait to run perfect doesn't make me want to shy away from a pointer. I believe the running depth is 4-7 ft for both models http://***.com/strike-king-kvd-slash-bait-review-p17509
  17. I would assume because strike kimg doesnt want to share profits with mustad. They would also have to jack up their price.
  18. LC when something is on the line.
  19. buy any two st. croix rods that equal 230.00 in value and receive and free rage rod. i think the promotion ended at the end of December.
  20. good choice. i really like the 1/4 oz red eye shad in the spring. Jerkbaits and squarebills are the go to. then a jig.
  21. squarebills/lipless i use kvd mustand short shank on kvd 1.0-2.5 and go up a size. LC RC stay stock and change when needed or go up a size in short shank depending on the area I'm fishing.
  22. you will eventually get it. it just takes practice and time on the water to understand when and where you need to.
  23. Ha. Pitching jigs to my cats food bowl and watching them jump 3 feet in the air after it is the only way i stay saine in the winter. 2 more months:(
