  1. Shimano makes great cheapo reels. I bought the 2500 size Shimano sienna a few months ago and my only problem so far is the bail wire but its minor. Still like the ten dollar Walmart special Shimano, had for years and just wont break slamming it on the ground, dunked in fresh and salt water, I've never cleaned it and it's still going strong. Hope the Sienna proves the same
  2. Hmmm.... guess I have to stop hucking my 12' Hudds and learn how to pitch. Funny review
  3. I hate my Dick's, it doesnt even have a fishing section and on top of it their camping section is tiny.
  4. Oh, no way. West Nile is a ticket out of school, and I would ride that train as long as possible.
  5. Lunker Runner
  6. I could have swore you said day care somewhere in there. Oh well, took the literal meaning of it again.
  7. Uhh, I'm guessing a time-out ball. That way you can lock all the trouble makers up in there.
  8. Ohhh, that's funny
  9. Same here on the Clarus, I have the 7'2 MH/F and have broken it once but it was my fault. Smacked it real hard against the rocks while landing a fish. The warranty is awesome, no questions asked they simply hand over a new rod and your on your way. The rods are built well, I had my previous one for three years of consistent use. If you are looking for an everything rod, I have been extremely happy with my Lamiglas Norwest Special, it's 8'6 medium action. Plenty sensitive for panfish, use it a lot for bass, trout, and if I wanted to surf fishing. Just a great rod in my opinion.
  10. You wait till you feel the fish or count to three, which ever comes first. Another suggestion, try a Booyah Pad Crasher till you have the motion down. They are cheaper and you won't have to give up as much money learning to fish a frog.
  11. 1. Pliers 2. Food 3.Phone 4.Head lamp 5. Money Stuff to avoid lake security at night. Normal stuff.
  12. The stroke for the frog is shorter than that for a spook and quicker. Be sure there is slack line too.
  13. All I can say is don't tie on any prized lures until the line has proven itself.

They work. Black 3/8 or 1/2 oz at night destroys them. Give the fish an extra second to inhale it or you will miss it nearly every time
  15. Try fishing it at night
  16. I agree with Sam, throw everything you can get your hands on. Dropshotting doesn't make a whole lot of sense fishing from shore because you are fishing a vertical rig horizontally but you should have some types of crank-baits and spinner-baits. A shallow running square crank in a couple different colors like red craw and sexy shad pretty much cover the spectrum. As for spinner-baits, I am still new to them myself but a white spinner-bait with two big silver willow blades has been crushing them in my area.
  17. While I love California, I would have to agree with Texas. Everything here is expensive and the bass are super pressured and unless you have a special pond in the mountains. You have to pay to go fishing every time you go out, because they are city lakes, on top of a license. Don't get me wrong, the saltwater fishing is awesome and there are big fish everywhere, they are just harder and more expensive to catch. My vote goes to Texas.
  18. My fishin has not changed. It's always a drought in SoCal
  19. 20# is fine. I use all the time and never have any problems correcting my semi-professional overruns.
  20. I don't know either but that not stopping me . Ought to be a fun year
