I have had a Saros for years now and I have never come across that problem.

I am glad you came across monsters. Pics? Full moon, so it should be interesting. Pea's usually go for fast moving, jerky baits. They will on rare occasions go for soft plastics, like the pea I caught last month. What part of town are you doing your fishing.?

Could You... One Rod/reel?
Yes, I could very easily do that. When I go out with my boat I only fish 4 rods. When I bank fish I only fish 1. For my style of fishing, I would stick with my 7ft M/H avid with a Lews MG. I currently have 30lb PP and I could work with leaders if need be.

Jaguars Lurk In South Florida
ComfortablyNumb, Jaguars just look mean. They swim cool, and collected, with a mean swag to them. CravinMorehead, in order to catch either species, you have to make your way to South Fl. Central Fl, is way to North for them.

Looking For A Little Help!
Alex, welcome aboard. You are going to meet some great people and learn a ton of new things. First off, add more to your profile. It will help us identify were you are located more or less, and what bodies of water you are close to. I would offer some advice, however I like to know what part of the country you are located before I can give you suggestions. I am sure a BR member living closer to you will be able to be more helpful. Enjoy the site.

Losing Bass With Light Texas Rig
The suggestions have been good so far, my question is how many fish did you actually lose? 2? 5? 10? If its 3 or more. I would revisit your setting technique. 2nd, how big were the bass? You could have been dealing with young little bass. 1-2 lost fish? That's just fishing.

Snag Proof Vs. Booyah Frogs
I have started to use booyah pond crashers recently. I have used Koppers frog for years and I recommend those as well. Going back to the booyahs, I was using one a couple of days ago and a decent bass blew up on it. After I set the hook and fought and released the fish, I looked at my frog and it was ripped in half. I have another booyah frog that I have caught few fish on one being 6lbs + and its still going strong. I cannot say that the booyah frogs will not hold up well because of one incident. However, saying that, if another one rips in the near future after less than 5 fish caught on it, then I will strictly fish Koppers only. Hope that helps.

Lews Speed Spool?
I really like the handles on the MG. I am a paddle handle fan. I know others do not like it. Different strokes for different folks.

How Do You Guys Fish The Summer?
Just came back from fishing near a canal by my house. Today I caught 3 LMB on the frog. Yesterday same canal, same time, nothing. You just have to get your line wet, as much as you can. It becomes a numbers game.

Casting A Spro Bronzeye
I have noticed, many questions about frogging are geared toward the hook set, but not many explain what to do once the fish is hooked. I feel this plays an important role in the success of catching a nice bass. Many of us are in agreement that braid is top line to use in this situation, and by reading some of the responses on other threads many fish become unbuttoned. What I have learned with frog fishing is after the hookset, contain your excitement and not over work the fish. Keeping constant pressure, a moderate reel speed, is one way to increase your chances of landing that fish. Overpowering and overworking a fish is one way to pull the hooks out.
