i used the delmart kit with alum two piece mold that has 2 four inch and two five inch it was my first time so i make about 40 and had six or so that were useable. i had trouble hitting the center of the hole other that a little worm oil and some salt i didnt put in any scents (yet) I have Garlic and Fish Scent and man that is some powerful stuff. I was scared:) I tried to match the gycb color 194 pumpkin like color it came out a little light and sank a little slower than the real thing but at the end of the day with two other guys in the boat throwing the real thing I came out on top and landed the only keeper. How is the Smallie fishing on Lake Erie? Id say its pretty good. this was my first full year of fishing erie. I know a spring and fall pattern as for the summer you got me there. I know someone here will help ya with that though. Eric

we were unloading the boat and i took out my rods one of which had a big top water lure on it with heavy line. my buddys dog a 100 pound chocklate lab was sniffing at the lure and got hooked in her nose and ran off breaking the line. me and my buddy ran after her and tackled her. now the lure was in her nose and in her face and she wasnt happy about it. so my buddy tells me to hold her tight while he trys to undo the hook in her face. well as he was unhooking her face she starts to wiggle her head and the next thing i know now he is hooked in the finger and she is stiil hooked in the nose. well the next door neighbor hears all the commotion and shows up and quicky gets some wire cutters and cuts my buddy loose and then we unhooked the dog my buddy still had a treble in his finger which he removed by putting the treble in a vise and popping it thru the skin on the other side so the nieghbor could cut the barb . he displayed tremendous pain threshold this all happend in like minutes neeedles to say i dont put my rods on the ground anymore......

nice smallie bro i keep my drag like yours better be too loose that too tight unless you have real strong line I was at the bassmasters university 2 years back talking with gary klien he said he keeps his drag maxed out because he uses such heavy line and a 8ft flippin stick he hooks them then he horses them in the boat e

We launched at the presque isle bay and ran to the right out of the bay around 7 miles I caught that one on a green micro munch tube

early spring focus around 30 foot of water look for fish on the screen drop offs rock piles ect use silver buddies, flourocarbon line 6 or 8 pound and start jigging you will know when you have one:) late spring focus on shallower water 15 to 25 feet same kind of structure silver buddys still work but tubes work better also jerk baits from what i hear hope that helps e

I consider myself lucky to be able drive 2 hours and tie into those bombers pretty regular. not too much skill involved, they are pretty aggressive just dont horse them and have a good net man

you can make your own silver buddies i buy home made one at the local tackle shop they work great e

i hit erie agian this weekend i caught 5 smallies and my partner got 1 we were 8 miles out of the bay on the main lake silver buddys and micromunch tubes on half ounce heads were the ticket the waves kicked up and made for a rough ride in to the bay where it was still pretty rough. we went to the lagoons and caught a few large mouth on gold jerkbaits. those smallies are sure addictive i cant wait till the next time

it was a green tube but the silver buddy was killing them i could of probaly caught more on the tube but once my partner started catching them with the silver buddy i switched over i caught a carp on a senko before it wasnt in a tourney though.

that was the biggest smallie ive ever caught 5.5 lbs but from what i hear its just par for the course for lake erie i cant wait to go agian

i hit erie today we landed 18 fish all smallies had a few get off of course the ones that got off looked like monsters the heavy one was 5.5lbs silver buddies in 30 feet of water this was my first one of the morning on a micromunch tube
