Thanks for the samples. I whacked this smallmouth yesterday morning. Rigged with a micromunch trickster worm, I also caught 2 nice largies on them later in the day. the pens finally got there act together make for some great hockey to watch

I recieved mine on saturday and used them sunday on lake erie. I didnt catch anything on them this trip, I had rigged a micromunch trickster worm that was producing on a drop shot. but to no avail. I am confident I will catch fish, its just a matter of time. I tore my meniscius last august got it scoped and it took about 3 months to start to feel normal

i like the pens 3 to 0 lead but you know what Badger Bob said "you gotta win four" I agree that detroit is strong but if the pens get to the finals I think they will make a good showing.

well I am back the big lake was too rough for our 17 footer, we gave it a go but no dice. we spend the rest of day catching hungry largies, but did manage two smallies in the bay. This is my Buddy Ron with one of them. even confined to wind free areas we managed a 16 healthy fish with the best 6 easly going over 20 pounds. tubes and jigs and dropshotted worms worked well near packs of bait fish.

well we still plan on heading up tommorow but there is a small craft advisary untill 10 am west winds 15 to 20 knots with 3 to 5 foot wave subsiding to 1 to 3 footers. we will probaly hang out in the bay until we see whats up with the main lake. ill keep ya posted

i was there two weeks ago and they were hualing them in with scooby doo rods throwing anything from shore at perrys monument and from boat as well

we hit the bay today, the largemouth are putting on the feed bag. we caught plenty and saw everyone reeling in fish everywhere. went to the main lake looking for the big smallmouth but no dice so we went back to the bay and caught the largies. tubes and raps worked well. simply amazing fishery!!!!

my dad told me that seieing a praying mantis was good luck. but since then they are my favorite insect.

well the wave report wasnt looking good so we bagged it for today. maybe next week.

silver buddy's flouro line or yo zori hybrid jig up like your setting the hook and let it flutter back to the bottom i am hoping to hit it this sunday

i prefer spinning gear for the ika too. i dont think you cant get a baitcaster to make the same casts. I rig it upside down (info I got on thiss board) and pitch it into and under everything. Be patient it sinks pretty slowly. and when rigging it try a 4 and a 5 ewg hook I think the 4 ended up working better for me . those things have a lot of meat on them. I recall one tourney, I was fishing cover right after launch, I had a ika rigged upside down. 1st pitch, blam ,hook set ,partner gets net. keeper in the boat. 2nd cast same thing. after netting the fish my partner asked " you got any more of those"

Pittsburgh here moraine shenago erie raystown pymy and i grew up fishing the allegheny I also hit the clarion a couple times a year.

i got a call from my fishing partner and he reported that moraine was pretty much totally frozen as of 5pm today. I am hoping for a big warm spell

its like total lock down mode. i look at the alleghney every day and its a mess. pre fishing moraine isnt happening. I can wait for a weather change

the first kbbc tourney is the 29th. It seems like the last few years the lake is frozen up too the week of the tourney.

id put two trebles on it and call it a crankbait hard plastic? i have not seen those yet. who makes them? i am aware of the huddlebug but that is more soft plastic.

I smoke big stinky cigars while I fish. I do alright.

if the main lake is too rough most likley you can hide some where in the presque isle bay.
