  1. VMC - size 0 https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/VMC_Crankbait_Snaps/descpage-VMCCS.html?from=basres&utm_source=automated_email&utm_medium=email&utm_content=order_confirmation
  2. Mixed "system" here. I keep everything in original packing. Blister packs (Rage and Keitech mostly) go in shoebox sized totes. Bagged worms, senkos, grubs, flukes, etc... in a few of the Flambeau Half Satchels. I like the KVD Speedbags for things like NED and Dropshot stuff - my drop shot baits are only for drop shot, NED baits only used to fish NED rigs, etc...I'm also able to segregate technique specific jig heads, hooks, weights, leader into those bags so its a grab and go deal for the whole application.
  3. Have a couple silver and hot mustard in the box.
  4. You could make the daily bag 100 a day under 24" and not see a change... Even (most) folks that are willing to eat pike are not going to mess with cleaning hammer handles - juice just isn't worth the squeeze...unless you are keeping 10 and just writing off the sides, filleting out the back and tail.
  5. Yes. Yes. I love catching them - tournament types generally despise them. Blanket statement BUT if you saw Joe Blow handle bass how I've witnessed many Bass fisherman handle pike you likely wouldn't be very impressed...
  6. We've all been there - a favorite, maybe lesser known offering or casualty of the new offering gets discontinued. Whole company goes under (or gets bought out by Rapala). Bargain bin blowouts ensue. Your stock runs low (if you stocked up). Replacements are impossible to find or priced to the point you aren't going to use them anymore. What are some of your "wish I still had a pile of X" baits? Couple of mine: Storm Subwarts - particularly Size 05's. Down my last several after getting bit off last Friday. Rapala Long Cast Minnow - sleeper, don't know anyone that has any in the box and few that remember them. They don't do much, they don't look all that special. They are killers in certain situations. Down to 7 of these. Terminator T1s - miss the durability of these in pike country, not so much I think they caught fish any better than others. With Rapala gutting 13 Fishing offerings I laid into a supply of Warthog 60's when TW had them on super sale for like $3.50 at the end of last month.
  7. I'll echo the Owner Flashy Swimmer gang. Gave away my Spin Trix after a few outings using the FS.
  8. Understood - hard sell getting folks to cut up hammer handles.
  9. Give me the choice between catching 5 lb and up northerns or 2 - 3 lb green carp - I'll take the northerns all day. Just not on $10+ spinner baits, lol. Of course harvesting I'm not interested in filleting a northern much under 8 lbs. Give me the smaller green carp in a harvest scenario.
  10. Agreed that quality is worth it - but the above is spoken like someone that doesn't encounter too many northerns. Might not "lose" it but she aint coming back that same, lol.
  11. I will take a dropshot rod with me every time, no exceptions, knowing full well I absolutely will not use it... I will throw a square bill for way to long before switching to something, finding success, and then switching back to a square bill - they'll want it eventually, right?
  12. I don't know - I caught literal tons of fish on nothing but Trilene XL on Quantum Accurists until I "knew better"... Nice gear is nice, nice line is nice - we like to overcomplicate things.
  13. Bass, walleye, etc...guide should be fishing enough to get you on a pattern but keeping you in the prime real estate and putting the rod down once you're on fish steady. Fishing musky where you're lucky to boat a legal fish in a day of fishing I would have a big issue with.
  14. Still in production - but they have been around forever (for a reason), Rapala Shad Raps.
  15. Acetylene torch
  16. Mississippi River Pool 8 2000-2001 ish Mississippi River Pool 8 2000-2001 ish
  17. I used the chat feature online and was told they will not price match with the buy 3, get 3 deal. Went to closest store and asked associate that was pull order in fishing and he confirmed - no match. Took 6 up to the register and asked girl if she could match Discount Tackle ($13.59) with buy 3 deal, took some clicking/typing but she did something in there that got it to take. Said I'll be right back....I can report there are no more BHite Delite, Spot Remover, or Green Pumpkin left in store at this time. Might have caught the right cashier at the right time but if you have a local store with stock I'd give it a try. Same buy 3, get 3 on the Evo as well. If they carried Bama Craw or Spot Remover in those there wouldn't have been one left in store either.
  18. Plopper 75s and 90s for $7 and change. $5.50 Abalone Shade Biggie Poppa/Smalls square bills. $5 Opening Bell prop baits.... Have been holding a grudge against TW but they win this round...as long as they fulfill.
  19. What are colors/patterns that you have either never had the success you "should" have with them or used to throw and have lost faith for whatever reason? I'll start; Black & Blue - jigs, trailer, plastics, all of it. Have given it more than the ol' college try. Never lived up to expectations....even as they dwindled, lol. Bluegill - cranks, swim jigs, bladed baits, everything. Fishing the upper Mississippi they are obviously a huge forage source. No dice for me with one exception - Orange Bream colored KVD 1.5 and 2.5's.
  20. Dipped a toe in the Vision waters and for the money was underwhelmed... Rerange is my #1 but at $17 still hurts when the line goes slack after a hit, lol. For $6 (sales) - $9 I have not found a lot to complain about with YoZuri 3DBs. My "intro" to jerk baits was with Rapala X-raps and while I didn't find them to be the best thing going for bass I do believe a Hot Steel colored XR10 has accounted for at least 1000 lbs of pike in the boat, lol.
  21. Not all bass specific; 18 baitcasting set ups 13 spinning set ups 9 trolling set ups Probably a good dozen rods w/ no reel. 8-9 reels not on rods. .....Ice fishing set ups, 3 dozen....
  22. I tend to find something I like, preferably on sale and buy multiples... Reels - $150 Lew's Tournament Pros for me. Couple BB1 Pros caught on sale as well. If I was starting from scratch today JDM Diawas would probably get the nod. Rods - For moving baits (cranks, squarebills, chatter, spinner, frogs, etc) I find it hard to justify rods over $150 ($100 is more better) and there are plenty of choices out there, shop sales. Okuma TCS, Lew's XD series, TP1 Black, etc... Bottom contact/finesse I'll stretch out the budget and take an Expride if I have to pick.
  23. Picked up a pair of Lews 5XD casting rods for $64 each this evening - can't go wrong.
  24. Have "nicer" and more expensive reels, but still can't quit my Lew's Tournament Pros.
  25. Cant believe what subwarts bring on eBay now. Makes me happy to have raided the Gander bargain bins hard when they were basically giving them away. I'm set for life (maybe) with 4 colors in 2 sizes plus a few odd ducks thrown in. I do die a little still when I get bit off.
