  1. A big misconception that people have about frog fishing is what to do after a miss strike. The correct thing to do is keep the bait moving, maybe go a little slower. A lot of people think you should stop but that's not a natural reaction. If a predator is chasing prey and it misses it the prey won't stop it will continue and if it is injured then it will move slower. Bass are just like any predator so you need to make you lure as natural as possible.
  2. Sandy still has an effect on NJ fishing. I lived in Monmouth County and a lot of the fishing around there was ruined by Sandy
  3. make sure your lure is in the water
  4. Rage Craw and Zoom speed craw
  5. online always gives you the best deals. Craig's list is good too a lot of people just want to get rid of their old gear and some people don't know what they really have
  6. My hollow body frog in black with red flake with my double size 5 frog hook
  7. Two days into frog fishing your cherry hasn't poped yet and you already are having fun. A lot of strikes are reactionary where they aren't hitting it to eat. I also notice with the type of frogs I use they take the legs in their mouth oppose to the body where my hook is.
  8. What was the big girls weight since you had to get rid of a 7lber? The colors on that largemouth are beautiful!
  9. Double digit club nice fish
  10. That's music to my ears I am gonna be in orlando tomorrow over by UCF and the airport you know any spots over that way? PM me
  11. Switch up your lures Martin. You said you've been throwing the jig try worms top water cranks spinners etc. the fish are there you just have to get them to bite. But who am I to tell you to switch it up when I throw frogs all day every day no matter what time or conditions, so I know how it feels to be stuck on one technique. I also throw speed worms and swim baits.
  12. When my girlfriend wants to shiner fish I've seen that happen. I've seen bass toy with the shiner and then when it gets bored eat if. I've seen bass compete for them as well. I prefer artificial lures though when fishing for bass
  13. I had one in FL that was 24" and 7 but I was very thing for a FL bass that size. The record here is around 24" they are double digits down here
  14. Yea not getting skunked is always nice, good catches
  15. Grip hard I can't speak on that though with in the last two weeks I have lost 3 big fish all over 6lbs while taking the hook out I droped em when the flop around an watch em flop back into the water... Very frustrating. Now I back up from the shore further incase my butter fingers come back the fish has a longer way to flop into the water lol
