  1. That happened to me but my fish was atleast 12lbs and I lost her about 15 feet in front of me in Lilly pads! She got wrapped up and I kept pulling and my mono snapped! Ever since that day it has been 30lb braid no matter what I'm throwing or the conditions. I have never had my line snap since then! If I didn't live in FL and there wasnt a huge gator living in this lake, prob others too, I would hav went in the water to get the fish out the pads!!! This thing was so big that I will never come close to getting a fish like that again in my life!!! I fish that spot about 2 times a week just to see if I can reunite with her again but this time be able to touch her lol
  2. Patience! And top water in the AM and PM!!! Top water hollow body frogs will change your fishing life if you are patient and put the time in. I was a non believer in top water too, never had any luck, past 4 months nearly ALL my fish have come from frogs and it seems like they are all big. August has been rough here in FL since its so hot the fish aren't as active but they are there and ready to bite if the opportunity is right and presents itself

  7. Nice fish. I use to live in Manasquan and lived in Monmouth County for 15 years. That's a nice size fish for Jersey. I know some real good spots that if you went now the fish would be huge because I haven't fished there in at least 6 years and nobody fishes it. PM me and I can could tell you where some good spots are in the area.
  8. How far north are you? I use to go to Kean University up in Union I know some spots around that area. I am originally from the Jersey Shore, Belmar Spring Lake area, I know a bunch of good spots over there. If you ever want to take a trip check out te Manasquan Resivour. They have basically every type of freshwater fish native to NJ, they even have hybrid striped bass and Muskie. You can rent Jon boats out of there and they sell live bait as well.
  9. I have found some lures like the rest of us. But I found $60 in a bank envelope. It must have fell out someone's car of something because the bills were showing out the bank envelope

  18. Fishing isn't a crime but if you are not allowed to be there, private property, that's considered trespassing and that IS a crime. Your mistake was bragging about the fact that you were sneaking onto the course. Glen saw something wrong and simple informed them so they could put a stop to it. In reality you could thank him. You aren't a drug dealer but with a trespassing charge you will be sitting in the same cell as those drug dealers and criminals
  19. Hollow body frog!
  20. Southern fish are stubborn during August. I think that the water temp has an affect. I think it gets too hot for the fish so they stick to deeper water. Then at night te water temp doesn't change much which will keep the fish deeper instead of on the bank. This hot weather are makin the bass lethargic which makes it worse when you get skunked in 95 degree weather
  21. Something similar happened to me with a 24" largemouth but I managed to still pull the fish in using my hands and the line lol. I was mad that my reel broke but it was a good experience
