Is there a difference in the fish finder you have on the dash of your boat and up front mounted to the floor? If so I would like to know. when i bought my boat it came with one up front but it doesnt work anymore. was wondering whats a good floor mount type fish finer to buy.

abu garica has some decent baitcaster combos. weight depends on what you are fishing with. line i use 10 to 12lb test. fishing cover as in stumps, brush piles etc i use 30 to 60lb braided line. what are you gonna fish with? would be able to tell you what ya would need as well as the others. welcome to the forums. but also i might add. you are gonna get alot of different answers to your question bc everyone uses what they feel comfortable with!

What do you guys prefer in rod lengths? Ive been stuck between 6'6 and 7'. Bought a 7' two weeks ago and im not sure if I like it. What does the length do for you in a rod?

Also let me add this. When you fish a jig, do you want it hopping the bottom or off the bottom the entire time?

Saw these on the shelf at sportsman warehouse this weekend. Bought 2 different colors. Black/Blue and California(Looks like green pumpkin with red flakes). Are these to big to fish on jigs with the matching colors? Also how else could I fish them and where to fish them? (open water or around trees, stumps etc.

Ive caught a few fish now with jigs. This caught my attention while I was showing my nephew how to fish. (Father and Grand Father Dont Fish). I was just playing around with a jig off the dock and saw a bass swim up to the jig and just barely hit it enough(Like a taste test) to where I could feel him. Water is clear at Lake Murray so I could see the fish. It felt the same way when you fish the jig and go across brush piles, trees, stumps and etc. My question is, how in the world do I know if its a fish or not? The few bass ive caught on a jig have all ran with the bait. Keep in mind ive only been using a jig for about a month now so im new to it. Any help would be great. thanks

Does anyone here carve there own wooden lures? Just bought a book on making wooden lures.(ive carved a few and decided to make it a hobby) wanna take it a little further with design and painting. Any good programs or videos to buy on painting lures? Any help would be great. thanks

do you ever use the circle hooks that mustad makes? goodluck with the new hooks. let me know how they work.

yep i dont have any problems catching catfish. still searching for a good 9 or 10 pound bass.
