  1. The constitution was merely an example. Yes we are in a digital age but not knowing how to at least read script imo would put someone at a disadvantage. I'm 29 all I write is script. Hopefully I'm not going anywhere but I could be your boss someday. What if i write out a list of things for you to do. You going to ask me to type it up for you?
  2. Not to get to political but one day kids won't be able to read the constitution without it being printed out. What a shame smh.
  3. I agree 100%. We used to fish out of a 1236 and with any chop on the water the risk of going in the drink was very high.
  4. The rod is done and dry took it out and tested it today on the river. Didn't get it bent but seems like it's going to work pretty good. Last summer I was in search of a new spinning rod and posted a wtb ad for a St.croix 7'0 mlf avid rod. Well a gentleman contacted me and offered me a good price on one and mailed it to me. It was a pre-ipc avid but looked literally unused. I soon fell in love with the Rods power and action and decided I wanted another. So I built a 7'0 mlf sc3 using the new guide concept with ss alconite reduction guides and size 2 rec single foot fly guides and a alconite top. Pictures below are a comparison of the two rods. Except for the first pic my rod is on the right hand side. The new rod will be used for soft plastics while the old one will be for hard baits and trolling. Thanks for looking.
  5. I caught a nice smallie on a top water. After I took the hooks out the lure drop out and caught on something looked in the fish mouth and it was gut hooked with a live bait hook. I used the hook removal trick and got it out. Hopefully he lived another day. Something different I got snagged on someone's line pulled the line in and there was a big minnow on the end. Unhooked him and let him swim away.
  6. The wraps came out pretty good. I used one coat of flex coat lite. I'm debating a second coat but actually don't mind the look of one light coat. Yup went with the Tennessee split grip again. I really like this grip but I'm thinking maybe a recessed skeleton seat one the next one or maybe a carbon fiber Tennessee grip. Decsions decisions.
  7. Nice those poppers and prop baits look sweet.
  8. In the words of one of today's great philosophers French Montana "I ain't worried bout nothing" lol
  9. http://m.timesunion.com/local/article/Ill-Schenectady-woman-triggers-Ebola-check-5827239.php Here's a good one. I'm from Liberia no wait its Ghana. Aw shucks I dunno.
  10. I'm excited to watch this take shape. That sounds like a sweet blank.
  11. Thanks for the heads up jrob. I'm standing here looking at the rod and I think it looks like that because I used the panoramic picture function on my iPhone.
  12. Finally finished up this rod that's been sitting in the corner all summer. Personally I'd rather fish than rod build which is why is took so long. I turned and epoxied the grip then laid out the guides months ago and since then it has sat. I was feeling ambitious today and decided to wrap and epoxy it up. Took me about 4 1/2 hours. I gotta give props to the guys that do this as a business. It is tedious work. For me it's hard to "get good" because I only build a rod every few months so the amount of practice I get is limited. Anyways here's a pic of it on the dryer. I'll post some pics of the finished product in a few days when it's done.
  13. Forget the smaller sized bass that rod can handle some big ones and more.
  14. Loomis IMX 783 CU-50e cost me about 260 St.croix Avid 7mlf stradic fj2500 cost me about 260 Love the used market!
  15. I'll add to that learn to tie a few knots and learn them well. When I first started I can't tell you how many fish I lost due to a knot slipping out.
  16. I'm not turning the heat on till November. I say that every year and looks like this year it could finally happen! I don't care if I have to sit in my living room in a coat a night or two.
  17. I have used both a weighted swim bait hook and jig head. I usually use the swim bait hook in heavier current and jig head in heavy current when I want to bounce it off the bottom. I throw my flukes on ml and medium spinning gear. Maybe casting in a pinch.
  18. I don't understand why some bags of zoom products are covered in that greasy film that gets all over my hands and all over my tackle bag. It seems to be certain colors. I love zoom but that stuff is extremely annoying. I just spent the better part of a half hour condensing zoom tubes into zip lock bags and now I'm covered in it Rant over.
  19. I own a 3 powered rod and described the techniques I use it for above.
  20. I've used a 683 for everything from frogging to spinnerbaits and weightless senkos. The 3 power is more versatile to me.
  21. I'm partial to Nissan Working on car lots I've seen some Chevys take a straight up beating and keep coming back. Having to clear 18 inches of mushy snow on a 7 acre car lot with a manic behind the wheel will test any vehicle.
