  1. Thanks Wayne P. Did you really use an egg beater? Or was that a demonstration? If you don't mind what did you use to attach the swivels ?
  2. Jig Man, thanks a bunch. That is exactly what I was looking for.
  3. Does anyone make their own a-rigs? I'd like to make something where I can throw 3 or 4 1/8 ball head jigs with various small minnow baits. Thanks in advance for any ideas.
  4. Out of those 3 on the higher end it would most likely be personal preference. My preference would be a higher end stcroix spinning rod in a 7 foot medium power.
  5. I've never driven a ferrari or Lamborghini but have a fair share of Porsches and high end Benz/BMW and your right at the end of the day they are just cars but d**n they are amazing. The owner of a company I used to work for had a rr phantom and his son an f430. They had to trailer the phantom to NYC for an oil change and some other work. I was there when they brought it back on the flat bed and the driver was a pro. He had the rear end of that thing an inch from the ground as he was operating the flat bed and man of man talk about holding your breath but he got it off the truck perfect.
  6. I'd say I'm 95% spinning. I only use baitcasting for spinner baits, frogs and in a pinch plugs. Once in awhile ill casts a fluke or a senko. I don't flip or pitch and my lure weights rarely exceed a half once. For long casts and how I like to fish spinning works best for me.
  7. Yea I dunno. Never really had a problem with speed. I'd rather see shimano offer the 5.2/1 in some us offerings. Yoyo'ing a bait. I know what you mean but how were the smallmouth faster than you? Once they were hooked ?
  8. X2 unless it was a tying error. I usually break off at the lure (snell/palomar). I figure if it is good enough For striper it's fine for lmb/smb.
  9. I like a 1/4oz tube jig head or a 1/0 gamakatsu worm hook with a bell sinker pushed to the top of the tube.
  10. You Bet!! Stay positive fellas!
  11. Wow bet you don't see a lot like that. Cool stuff.
  12. Here's a different approach. Make friends with another attractive lady in the class. Nothing will pique a woman's interest more than a man that is seen with other women.
  13. Using powerpro as a guide, I would not look higher than fifty pound test. 50lb power pro is equivalent to 12lb test. I don't know what your experience with braid is but I've found a 2/10 braid very difficult to break off. 50 should be more than enough for almost if not all applications. As far as smoothness to mono; I think that's comparing apples to oranges.
  14. Watching this show on the history channel 9/11 102 minutes. God bless not only our troops but all the people that passed that terrible day.
  15. Give the beetle spins a try they definetly catch fish as your friend demonstrated. Neither of those lines would be my first choice. 8-10 mono would be. If I had to pick id go with the mono and watch my drag. Also nick that 4lb test its going to have the strength of 1 or 2 pound test.
  16. Get that ml spinning rod out and try those tubes. You could also try flukes and maybe some topwaters. Oh yea and a rooster tail.
  17. Easy stradic fj. Like a small knob get the 2500 like a paddle handle get the 3000. Look on that auction site for the fj you will probably save 30-40 bucks.
  18. The tubing like was mentioned or dental/brace bands that you can get at on orthodontist. A small file to fill down guide feet, another pack of razors. Does that come with a marking pencil? Might get one of those. Things always come up on the first build or two. Take it as a learning experience. It can be very rewarding.
  19. Try 1/4 tubes, drop shot, topwater think gunfish95/spookjr/popr, flukes/senkos, jerkbaits/crankbaits to name a few. That's what I like to fish on medium light rods
  20. I'm not a pro but I'm not sure I would go with gorilla glue. The times I've used it it seems to expand a lot. Edit: forget that didn't see it wasn't gorilla glue. You could try a two part epoxy like u40 rod bond. Or test the super glue on something else first to see home much it expands. I'm sure if you used a thin coat it would be fine.
  21. At one point in time no. Now maybe the orra has a magnetic break system while the s uses a centrifugal system. I think it's more up to what breaking system you feel more comfortable with.
  22. Cool fish. Fishing in your favorite jeans soon means they will be "fishing jeans" as I guess you have learned.
  23. If you can't vent to a guy flipping your dock. Who can you rant to? Geez people these days; I tell ya.
  24. Thanks Mike. I had heard that it's shoulder to shoulder and mentioned this to my buddy and even heard fights have broken out. We'll see if he puts this trip together.
