  1. Definitely the most convenient way to fish from the bank.
  2. Geesh, I've been using the wire from plain old bread ties. They seem to work just fine, however the zip ties will probably last a lot longer.
  3. Like Catch and Grease said, plenty of articles on this website about weather patterns. When I fish I only concern myself with whether it's cloudy or sunny. That helps me determine what my color choices will be and where the fish should be in relation to cover.
  4. I know this much, it would be my last fishing trip with him.
  5. Next time you have that scenario, use a weightless t-rigged senko. You won't be sorry.
  6. Probably the most common method of rigging a plastic bait and the most familiar to fishermen is the Texas Rig. It is a quick and simple technique to fish one of the most productive bass lures; the plastic worm. In the original Texas Rig, the worm is rigged on the hook with the point of the hook pinned back into the body of the worm to make it weedless and a bullet weight is used on the line ahead of the hook. In recent years the term Texas Rig has come to mean the weedless method of putting the bait on the hook whether a weight is used or not. Thus, many anglers talk about Texas Rigging a Senko or other soft plastic stick baits, or Texas Rigging their drop shot bait on an offset hook to enable them to fish the drop shot around wood and other hook-snagging cover. Times they are a changing.
  7. I know I've never fished one wacky, Weightless T-rigged for me.
  8. 5" GYCB senko's, Green pumpkin/w black flake. Endless fish catching possibilities.
  9. It's certainly not easier as far as I'm concerned. Today was also my first day being skunked this year. Fish were in the area, I just couldn't get them to cooperate. Thankfully tomorrow is just around the corner, and with that comes another opportunity to go fishing.
  10. Check out Stankx Bait Company for 5" stick baits. Nice article from In Fisherman on this Michigan based company. Also I just picked up some Hawg Jawz from a local tackle store. They are based out of North Carolina. Have not tried them yet.
  11. Never say never. Plenty of quality products in every fishing aisle.
  12. I totally agree with this. I will add one other tidbit of info, if you are able to chum an area for a couple of days around the same time each day the fish will be waiting for you on the day you decide to catch them.
  13. Weighted T-rig Weightless t-rig Carolina
  14. It's Megastrike for me. I use it on all of my soft plastics, even those already infused with scent. I believe the fish hold on longer with some Megastrike on them. That's my confidence booster..
  15. My first brand of braid was Zebco omniflex, never experienced the problems you are describing. I now have Power Pro and Stren Sonic on my spinning reels, still not having those problems that you have described. If you are using a spinning reel here are a couple of tips. Use some type of backing and make sure that the line is tight on your reel. You can do this by tying your line around a stationary object, walk the line off until you come to your backing, then increase your drag just a little and slowly reel in your line. Do not over fill the spool, leave about an 1/8". Always stop the line just before it hits the water and close the bail by hand, this should reduce wind knots tremendously.
  16. Plastic cigars AKA Senkos, Yum Dingers, Megastrike megasticks, Big bite trick sticks. I am just amazed how those things always catch fish!
  17. My favorite condition for bass is from 5:30am to 8:30am, cloudy to partly cloudy.
  18. Walmarts have the veritas on clearance for $34 right now.
  19. The one by my house has a couple of those still on clearance. They also have a display of Abu Garcia veritas rods for $34

It pains me to say this, but I have caught more fish on the swim jig versus my beloved spinnerbaits. Favorite brands and colors, SK hack attack bluegill and all terrain in bluegill and pumpkin seed. I have'nt thrown a spinnerbait in two weeks, even in favorable conditions.
  21. 5" Senko, #297, with a dab of Megastrike.
  22. The places I'm fishing at 8 per hour would be DYN O MITE!! If I can catch 8 in two hours it's been a good session for me.
