  1. Been having a lot of success with the megastick this year, however my go to or fail safe will always be a weightless t rigged Senko.
  2. If your not t rigging a Senko weightless, you're really missing out on some quality fish. Much better than wacky rigging . IMO
  3. I sharpen my hooks when necessary. The day Glenn put out his hook sharpening video, I had purchased some of "the worlds sharpest hooks" from a walmart display. I had to sharpen two packs worth of hooks. I'm not impressed with that brand. Very impressed with the video!!
  4. How is this done? Since you called me out on my spinnerbaiting. To the op, I end up t-rigging every time I go out, that's how the vast majority of my fish are caught.
  5. 5" senkos with an owner twistlock 3/0 hook, weightless!
  6. Give me some grass please.
  7. #2 is a solid choice in my opinion, opens up the catch and release season, and moves up the harvest opener for the Lake St. Clair area, which will allow more tournaments on LSC.
  8. 1/2oz spinnerbait 1/2oz lipless crank T-rigged worm 1/2oz swim jig
  9. The Louisiana Sportsman host Greg Hackney and of course, good ole Shaw Grigsby.
  10. I'm all for the open season. When I E-mailed MDNR earlier this year, the response was that an open Bass season would be an enforcement issue for them. Because the almighty Walleye and Pike spawn in the same areas with the Bass. It's easier for them to have everything closed down. I'm not a tourney guy so I could care less whether it was a fully open season or catch and release from Jan, to last weekend of May. I just want the chance to fish as soon as the opportunity presents itself.
  11. I never straight retrieve a swim jig or spinnerbait. Swim jigs can be flipped, pitched, swam, hopped on the bottom, whatever you want to do. That's way Hackney loves em so much because of the versatility.
  12. Senko color #297 is really the only color you need. (Green Pumpkin w blk flake)
  13. Catt.......there has been an occasion or two when I actually do catch them on the spinnerbait. It's my routine, spinnerbait or swim jig(if there is a lot of vegetation) then the Senkos or t riggs. Makes feel like I'm following some sort of bass fishing protocol .LOL
  14. As a bank angler, I use a spinnerbait as a wake up call to get their attention. I run it through an area a couple of times and then I switch to a Senko or T rigged worm to actually catch em.
  15. Couldn't agree more. When it comes to bank fishing, less is more. Do you guys really think that boaters use every piece of tackle they have on their boats to catch fish every time they go out? Once I started following the pros and realized a lot of them come to the weigh in with less than a five fish limit, I quit worrying about what I didn't bring and started concentrating on what I did bring to use for the conditions. Plenty of articles on this website to help you with what to use in various conditions. To get the most out of bank fishing you need a positive attitude and develop a few confidence baits and styles that can carry you through out the day. This all comes with time spent on the bank. Welcome to the forum.
  16. Six reviews, all 5 stars, BPS. Small sample, but they all seem to be happy.
  17. 5" senko, green pumpkin blk flk #297. T rigged weightless.
  18. Senkos are my new #1.
  19. A 6'6" medium/fast spinning rod, 2500 size spinning reel, 20lb high vis yellow power pro with 12lb Flouro leader. Weightless Senkos, all day!!
  20. This is absolutely some of the best advice on this site. Every bank fisherman should heed this advice. I have caught more fish using this basic technique than all of the others combined. Thank You RW, for this wonderful piece of advice!!
  21. You can fish a Senko any way you want to. And the answer to your question is yes. I swam a Senko during the pre spawn this year.
  22. Texas rigged worms, fished slowly, always works for me.
  23. Just witnessed this phenomenon here in Michigan. Found a great spawning area two weeks ago, catching bass like crazy. Then the carp showed up and took over for about a week. Things are starting to get back to normal now.
  24. Sundown is when my personal best was caught, however this year I'm catching nothing but quality(14"+) in the morning. Have yet to actually get up before daylight. That seems to be a challenge for me. I love catching Z's just as much as Bass!!
  25. Fishing from the shore, I always start out fast, and end up slow. Spinnerbaits and swim jigs, t-rigs and jigs, and then senko style baits.
