  1. There are several options in that price range so your not limited. I can't comment on the Savy as I have never used one, but PM Large Mouth Gambler here. He's got 2 that I know of and he raves about them. With LMG, if he likes it, he'll be honest as hell and tell you. The Champion is what I'm dead seat on for my light plastics. It's at 250 a bit high in your range, but TW will be having their sale in a couple of days. Usually 15% and that will knock it down to around 220 ish.
  2. Yes. I'm probably too picky, but the blue kinda turns me off
  3. Yep! Like the DX better but I just bought one last week and would like to not go over 300 again lol
  4. I've heard the same. I can't get over the blue rod though. I know it's a superficial thing, but it's gotta look good to me.
  5. Thanks man. This is what I was looking for.
  6. That rod looks great, but not sure about that handle. It's 17" long
  7. I've done this twice now and have been more than blown away. Now I'm looking for another rod for a few specific techniques. Here are my criteria for the rod: Full cork grip Super warranty Min of 7' Max of 7'4 Great sensitivity 250 ish and below range Here is what I am looking at so far: Dobyns Champion 733 FH. St. Croix Avid 7' MF St. Croix Avid 7' MHXF Loomis Mossyback BCR852 Loomis Mossyback BCR853 This rods gonna be used for Tubes w/ 1/4 oz weights, Rage Rig 1/4oz and the occasional 1/4oz pitching of plastics. I'll be using either 12# Tatsu or 40# Braid. More than likely will be running a Chronarch 50E or 200E7, but leaning on the 50 Thanks in advance and please if I've missed a quality rod that meets the above, by all means let me know!
  8. Wilson Lake is my honey hole! Welcome!
  9. They are great. It's a toss up between the Caffeine Shad and the Bruiser Baits Rad Shad. They are awesome. They don't last as long as I wish they would, but they do catch fish.
  10. My arse! Lol A&M are traitors and will always be know as such!
  11. Ya, Dimebag was amazing! Cut to short too
  12. Yes sir! Think of a swim jig like a spinnerbait with no blades. A Swim Jig is one of the most versatile baits I use.
  13. Who's your favorite guitarist of your generation? For me, it's gotta be Slash. The man is known for everything. Probably one of the most noted solos of all time (remember my gen) is Sweet Child o Mine. Next to Ferby in that cute little number, his riff at the 2011 Half Time Show was worth every minute I had to sit through Ferby and her gang barking, squawking, screeching if that's called music.

The Home Depot one resulted in coffee on the keyboard!
  15. Yep. It defiantly lets you know your running something with action. Mines a MHM and 2.5's really test it out. I may get another in HM to run the larger stuff. On a side note, I have 75 yards appox. of #40 PP Slick backed with mono. On a good Happy Gilmore cast, I could see my backing underneath the line. That has to be around 65 plus on a cast lol
  16. Yesterday I finally got to get out to a lake where trees, brush and sticks cover more area than water. (No joke). This has always been a place for tubes and rage rigs due to the constant hang ups. I do fish jigs here, but I don't recommend doing so without a boat. The Jig Gremlins average 3-4 North Star Jigs a trip! Anyway, I usually don't bring a cranking set up at all due to the trees. Until this year, I've always cranked with a glass rod and never really felt the trees until it was too late. This was the first time I've been on Bell Cow lake in my boat so I brought my new Avid cranking rod. All I can say is WOW! I ran lipless and Squarebills all day. Never lost a one. I was able to feel every branch limb etc. I could slowly drag it over everything. I felt every tick on it too. I started getting cocky and throwing it into submerged trees and never got a hang up. If anyone has ever thought about making the switch to graphite for cranking, don't look back. I new I liked this rod, but after yesterday, this was one of the most enjoyable trips I've ever had. Minus the 10th degree sunburn and me scoreing a big 0 on bass, it was a blast! Big thanks to Roadwarrior and the rest of y'all on the recommendation of this rod!
  17. Welcome! I work in OKC and live in Edmond! Not the best LM fishing around here, but you can occasionally find a few nice ones. I haven't broken 5 pounds here yet, but one day. Where abouts do you fish? Thank god for all the rain, every watering hole in this state is above normal!
  18. Nice fish man! I'm still trying to break 6. When I broke 5 I went bonkers so I could only imagine how excited you were.
  19. Yes, all NS jigs are wire tied. Very sturdy. I have jigs that are 2 years old and have no issues. They usually have one around this time, but you can always call Chris and ask him. I hope they do, I am going to get some finesse jigs for my son
  20. If your freshwater fishing for say small species like bass etc, any mono will do, but if your going after something huge, I'd have some good backing and a good knot. I'd hate to have my backing give out on a huge fish due to cheap mono.
  21. Start with the Ecigs. They are not better than quitting, but you can spell again, taste food and not worry about others smelling your smoke. I did the same and it worked well. I just gradually reduced the ecigs until I winged myself off m
  22. MUCK FIZZOU baby!!! ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK
  23. I've got 2 Brits 1 Weimer and 1 Mutt's ashes saved in those urns the Vet gives me. I spread part of the ashes on our favorite CRP field and the rest I saved. The Mutt's I'll be buried with, the others I will keep for ever. I found it easier to keep them displayed. I look at them every night before I head to work!
  24. Its all in if you can handle it. My dog was hit and killed in my driveway (along with me getting hit too) 2 Christmas's ago. I still can't bring myself to get another one. I should have had her on a leash but we were taking a walk down the drive to get the mail. She never left my side but about 2 feet. Driver was drunk and jumped the curb taking her and myself out. If I hadn't been hit I would probably have given him 15+1 pain pills, but I was out cold. They found him 2 weeks later. I blame myself for her death so I really can't bring myself to get another one. People say that if you are morning the loss of one, go drop down in the middle of a bunch of puppies and you will be cured.
