A couple weeks ago I was messing around with the GPS at work and found a small body of water near the campus. It used to be called Thompson Lake but they changed the name over to Eagle Lake when OKC purchased it. Cops in the area told me they cleaned it up and its a back up water supply for OKC if thunderbird goes dry. Lots of Crappie and bass. Talked with a few people who have fished it and most have said the best way is to get a small boat you can launch from shore and fish the north end. Its 9 degrees here so I went out there today on shore. I had to quit due to equipment freezing up, but the lake looks promising. No major area of cover but there are a few decent points on the north and east side. 2 bucks a day to fish and easy to get to.

I've been out there every day for the last week. I haven't had a bite one yet. The last doubt we had really killed the lake. All I've seen caught and caught myself have been year old fish that they restocked this year. Provided we have a few good years of rain like this year, it may turn out to be a pretty good place.

I wouldn't. They go for well over that looking like they made it through Armageddon on ebay.

I really like the color on them. I really never heard a bad thing about them either. I have put one on my bucket list. Great find man!

Thank you very much Felix. This was a great gift. I got a spool of 20# PP braid, 5 1/4oz Megastrike Shakey heads, pack of Luck E Strike Tubes ( which by the way is an awesome tube in the red craw color. This will be one of my new favorite tubes), 2 packs of Zoom tubes and a Red Eye Shad from Strike King. Its a Firetiger with orange belly. Perfect color for the dirty water here. Thanks again bud. This was a great box.

I have been thinking of getting one. I'll run by academy and pick one up tomorrow if no one has responded by then. I need an excuse to break out the new go pro.

Yup, but if Bobby made a tube in a blue green okeechobee color and a red craw falcon lake color, I would dump every tube I have and switch to the Megastrikes……….

This rod has such a huge parabolic bend to it that I went with it over a glass rod for that reason. I've been wanting to upgrade to a Champion for cranking, but i really like the way this rod reacts..

I use nothing but braid for all my cranking. I use a graphite cranking rod so pulling hooks out isn't an issue. As with fly fisher I use an 8# diameter 30# braid and love it. Like quake said, if your getting nicks in fluoro, braid is going to be even worse. Braid had way less abrasion resistance than fluoro. Sounds like you need to jump to a heavier fluoro or a more abrasion resistant fluoro. General rule of thumb, if your dragging your bait through stuff that can test up your line, your bait is in the right place.

It that over time with the same battery after its been recharged or just after its been sitting in the camera?

I figured it would eat it up pretty good. The LCD screen is more for my fiancé. She wanted a camera that she can see the photos as she takes them. When videoing I don't plan to use it. We got the 32 gig cards as Best Buy had the 64 gigs for 99 dollars and the 32's for 29.99 on sale. It only made since to get more bang for our buck.

Here is my new swim jig set up. Rod arrived yesterday. I hope to get it out today and see how it feels. Casting in the yard for the last hour as felt great. This tip feels great. Nothing like the XF I am used to.

We stocked up today. Got the wall charger with battery, 2 extra Go Pro Batteries, 4 ScanDisk 32 gig cards, the LCD screen and the tripod mount. 4 batteries and 5 cards otta be ok for a week in a half in Maui.

Well after a few hours at best buy shopping around we decided on the iMac. When I talked to the tech today about using it for the Go Pro he mentioned that the iMac had some good software all ready installed. Thanks for the heads up. I have had my share of laptops, but we wanted a base computer in the house for us and my son. My last laptop bit the dust when my son decided to (help daddy) and carry it to the bedroom. Seems the don't like to be dropped. We wanted to be able to insure that it lasted. We both have iPads for quick internet use and for travel so we wanted something more stable. Plus no batteries to go to crap in a year or so. I was talking about a few different computer games with disks. More for kids games. I didn't realize that most all the games my son uses were on my iPad and everything switched over from my cloud account. I like to also burn DVD's. I make copies of my sons favorite movies and use the copies for his portable DVD player in the truck. The originals stay put in the house that way they last longer. I also burn DVD's from redbox if we want to keep the movies for future use. I have tons of firearm, tactical training, and armor dvd's that I still use so I wanted a DVD player. We just bought a portable one for it though. Thanks again everyone for your help. It was much appreciated. I think we got a killer deal and a really nice computer. My son has this exact computer at school too, so homework etc will be easy for him.

Are all Internet programs comparable with apple now? My ipad is so limited on what it can do.
