  1. Wow guys he's really starting to come around!
  2. Sorry officer. I lost all my plastic baits in a tragic gun accident last week!
  3. My S is on a medium fast Veritas micro guide 7' rod. It's mainly my jerk bait set up. My PQ is on a 7'6" MH Winch Veritas. My dedicated cranking set up.
  4. Apparently ****** as in grab, is a bad word here and got axed. I had to pull deep down in my bag of juvenile smartelec words to figure out why. Now I have to wipe coffee off the phone
  5. Lies I tell you....All lies!! I fished a Lews in 7 gear the other day. It was a nice little reel. I don't think I will ever buy one as I am pretty content with my Abu's and my Shimano's Yes I said Shimano's (Plural). I bought a Curado G the other day and damned if I didn't go get another one. I love the price point they have. Its between the 130 and 200 dollar mark. I still love my Revo's more. I am tempted to go buy a new Winch today too. As for the E series, I have been told they are better than the G's but no longer made. If you can find a dealer with some new old stock, ****** it up. I can't tell a major difference in the Chronarch over the Curado in the short time I've played with it but am told its better. For 40 bucks, I decided to stick with the Curado. I would imagine someday I would grab one. As for your rods you have listed, I say the Crucial. I am head over heals for mine. Kinda pricey at 150-160 bucks, but the warranty is bar none
  6. Yep. Authorized Shimano dealers
  7. Sounds like a 6'6"-7' MH rod with a fast action would be the happy medium for you. Kind of a do all rod. At the 100 dollar point, I like the Veritas micro myself. Shimano makes the Sellus for 50-60 range. Berkley has the lighting shock for 40 ish. They are good rods and are sold at Walmart so you can test them out.
  8. Crap. That came out wrong lol
  9. I have both. I prefer the S. She is a sweet sexy little hunny of a reel. That said, I love my PQ. It will be easier for a beginner to learn on. Stop by a BP and check them all out.
  10. Woulda been better had it been a Shimano lol
  11. Depends on a few things. What type of fishing? What type of baits and how heavy. What's your budget
  12. Very. Look down a few threads and there is a 5 year Pro Qualifer challenge. Very durable.
  13. If I might jump in too, honestly I prefer the S. I don't use the mag breaks on my STX's at all. The S is super light too.
  14. Agreed. For the 130 dollar mark, nothing compares
  15. X2. Also ask him how many backlashes he's had on that line, the age of the line and if there were any kinks from backlashes.
  16. The C3 has a proven track record no doubt. It's a tank that keeps going and going. I've never tried to pitch with a round reel. Sitting here thinking about it, it would be tuff with the small thumb bar. The C3 is alot harder to adjust. You have to take it apart to adjust the breaks for wind, heavier or lighter baits etc. The Revo S is quick and easy. I have owned a C3. It was a great reel but didn't like the thumb bar and not being able to adjust the breaks. Round reels don't fit me very well. I have small hands and the super low profile of the S fits me better.
  17. Well today with some wind, using 3 brakes and a weightless caffeine 5" shad, I was getting 30-35 yards in an average cast. Alot of your distance is going to matter on what rod your using and the weight of the bait. I have a medium fast 7' micro guide rod on mine and it loads very well. If you used a heavy action rod less than 6 foot for example, your distance will be short. But if I could answer your question easier, the distance is awesome. Better than my two Gen 2 STX's
  18. For look feel and extras yes they are better. As for it holding up to the abuse year to year, we won't be able to know for awhile. I bought mine the day the hit the market about 6-7 months ago. No issues with mine so far.
  19. How much experience with a bait caster do you have? The SX has mag breaks only. They are great for pitching and flipping, but an over all casting reel or work horse reel, I don't like them. They are also more difficult to use for a beginner. The S has a sweet breaking system. You can fine tune it for any condition or application.
  20. Oooooooo Ya I got nothing!
  21. Just remember BP has the online code VISIT20GC to enter. Any online purchase of 100 dollars or more gets a free 20 dollar gift card.
