I use a 7,3 m/h... I don't use those hooks.. I only fish my senkos wacky with 3/0 mustad, trokar , laser sharps.. hook up ratio is very high.. I watch my line so if the bass is taking off with it to the left I'll wait a second until I feel he's got then I'll set the hook straight up and to the right. Again I only fish senkos wacky just a condifdence thing...give normal wide gaps a try.. if.your getting weeds you can easily pop them off with your rod tip. Or just find the. Depth of seeds and I like dropping it right on top.and fish above them.

What's happens with the hook

I wacky rig in ponds its the best way imo.. caught 6 fish over 3 pounds in my big pond last night... also try a Stanley rabbit frog those get smashed up here

Id use a stinger hook it can't hurt

Can bass actually smell that? I think the scent is for when they dobm bite your bait "worm" that a bass with hold on to it longer.. intaead of spit it out like there doing to you.. I spray that stuff on jigs and worms...

No trailer hooks? I always get short strikes on buzz baits. At night... no trailer hook = no fish. And I'm not ripping the bait while there strikeinh either..
