  1. I filled my boys box up with these, some good stuff in there .
  2. Images added to a gallery album owned by keith71 in Fishing Albums
  3. Tight wiggle baits like a Shad Rap,Little Johns are usually what I go to first but my first fish of the year came on a Norman deep lil N in 44 degree water. You have to experiment a little.
  4. I think its more about confidence than anything else, however there are days when it gets tough that something a little more detailed or different makes a difference. If everyone is throwing "sexy-shad" on the lake its a pretty good indicator there chewing shad but maybe something different about your version whether its color, shape or sound can be key. When I paint or build a lure its to my satisfaction,I look at references and try to be a little more detailed.Look at all the lures people have built on this website and others and I think you'll agree that if you had some of those tied on the end of your line you might have a little more confidence,I do.

Its what its all about. These are the days that you never forget.
  6. Interesting, some good points here.Ive always been afraid off straight braid in clear water,I guess its time to try it.
  7. The only reason to put a leader flouro, mono, whatever is to hide the braid.Braid is at its best IMO using jigs and plastics. It will help transmit the feel of the bottom as well as the strike of a fish. Use an Alberto knot to join the two together and leader length is usually between 3 to 6ft.I always put a mono backing on the reel first so the braid wont spin on your spool. Hope this helps.
  8. Nothing wrong with that setup, lots of guys in my club fish with stuff not as nice as that.Fish slow and thorough and you'll be fine.
  9. I broke about a 2" diameter branch last year on 8# Ultra Soft, reeled the branch and everything right to the boat.My partner asked if I had braid on my shakey head setup, when I showed him his jaw dropped.Seeing is believing, just make sure to wet your knots.
  10. Super strong line,I like the Hybrid soft for spinning applications. I am line paranoid and change it out more than I probably need to. In my own experience,I have not noticed a difference between 100% flouro and this as far as catch rate.Price point on the other hand.
  11. We are all sick, sick people Little green fish occupy our minds and time way more than we'll admit. Twenty something years ago I purchased a aluminum boat from a pawn shop for a hundred bucks. My future love for this sport was planted. I was so glad to just get off the bank.I had one rod and my partner had a cheap 10ft surf rod literally two bags of worms and some slider heads. We eased over to a lily pad field and we didn't know at the time but we were flipping . We caught a handful of small bass that day but we both knew in time that our skills and our equipment would improve. It did.
  12. You wont be sorry with the Iwata,Ive had an eclipse over ten years. As far as air pressure experiment a little.Ive used mine for stuff outside of cranks too
  13. Ive used this for a long time, almost 15years.Put as many tabs as you want in this.Barlows has them for around twenty bucks I think.
  14. Good looking baits, nice blend of colors.
  15. I like an 1/8 oz bullet weight for t rigging shallow but when you first start out a 3/16 or the 1/4 oz you have might be a little better for "feel". A bite might feel like your holding a guitar with your eyes closed and someone picked your string.
  16. Watermelon gold flake,Redshad and the new Bluefleck is a killer.
  17. Looking forward to the pics, sounds like a good idea.
  18. This is an older Motor Guide with no tension knob
  19. Thanks, I'll check it out.
  20. My bow mount foot controlled trolling motor when pressed forward or backwards spins 360 degrees before it stops. Is there a way to adjust this? Its very aggravating and I hate the excess noise from the spin.
  21. Welcome aboard,Salem VA here!
  22. Loved the charm assassin, let me know how it goes.
