New Curado Pic
It's not attached on the Chronarch CI4+ so I would doubt it.

Svs Infinity, how Complex Is This System?
Not all reels with SVS have six blocks. The Chronarch CI4 only has 4 blocks. But so far I'm very pleased with this system. Seems easier to adjust, and able to dial the braking in such that I don't lose casting distance but also don't have to thumb the spool at all and no backlash. I've only had the Chronarch out about 4 times testing it on the creek behind my house. Hoping it performs well in windy and challenging conditions. As far as complexity, doesn't seem complex to me at all. Very simple and trouble free adjustment.

Chronarch Ci4+
Everyone forms their own opinion, I've read 100 posts like this. Advanced carbon fiber materials are used in so many industries like aviation and racing applications they're fairly proven. Personally I think you'd be making a poor assumption. I have 2 Shimano reels made with CI4+, 1 spinning and 1 baitcasting. I can't feel that they are any less rigid or durable then aluminum framed reels. But this is one of those religious debates and trying to talk people out of their personal opinion is futile. I'm ordering another Chronarch CI4+ shortly despite the new Curado being released. I love the reel that much after a few times on the water. I've used a 201e7 and the new CI4+ just is that much better in my hands. And it feels built to tighter tolerances and more solid in my hands then the 201e7 did. I'd suggest you try to hold both side by side or order demos from TW to make your own determination.

Chronarch Ci4+
Just wanted to post an update. I just read a post by Bantam1 on another forum. Bantam1 stated that the "every 5 uses" note in the maintenance card was a translation error not caught in time. He stated that the SVS doesn't need to be lubed any more frequently than the VBS system. Did mention however it is more prone to get noisy and if it does that's the time to give it a drop of oil. Hope this helps the maintenance concerns.

Questions About St Croix Warranty
To answer what I think your question is, the St Croix warranty is not an over the counter warranty like some others. For any true warranty issues or to use their Gold Star Service plan you have to deal with them directly and ship it to them. So you don't lose out on anything warranty wise if you order online from *** for instance. However for the regular manufacturer warranty to be honored you want to be sure the retailer is an authorized St a croix resaler. That being said as many others have suggested call them directly and order over the phone, great people to deal with.

Curado "i"
No 5.x:1 in lefty sucks. Guess I have to look somewhere else for a cranking reel. But otherwise looks really interesting. If it performs anywhere close to the Chronarch CI4+ then it will be a great reel.

Chronarch Ci4+
For the op, I received a Chronarch CI4+ for Christmas. It's cold here in NJ so I was able to spool it up and take it out for a test drive 2x. I'm amazed by the silky smooth feel and effortless casting I get with this reel so far. I've tested it with a weightless 5" Senkos up to 1/2 oz crank and 3/8oz jig plus trailer. Handles them all with ease. The distance I can throw even a weightless Senkos astounds me. I am able to dial in the spool tension and brakes so that I can throw that Senko with no backlash and never touch the spool, and still get great distance. Also the reel pitches just as well as it casts for me. And I love how it handles and palms, for me it's the perfect size and makes fishing it very comfortable. All of my testing has been with only 1 or 2 brakes engaged. Now I'm not experienced with a ton of high end baitcasters. Most of my arsenal ad PQs from BPS. I also got a T3 1016 for Xmas, nice reel, but the CI4+ just blows it away to me. I'm glad I paid less for the Daiwa. I tested both reels out side by side on 3 rods - Dobyns champ 703, Dobyns champ extreme dx704, and MB Orochi XX Spinnerbait Special. In the past I've demoed a Quantam smoke and a Chronarch 201e7, and nothing else has compared to the CI4. For clarity the instructions in the box instruct you to clean and lube the brake race and spool bearing once every 5 uses or once a month to avoid premature wear of the brake blocks. But it does come with spare blocks. Some folks have posted on here not following that and having no ill effects. I keep a bottle of oil in my tackle bag so a quick maintenance every few outings is not an inconvenience. I have some gift cards and another CI4+ is going to be my next purchase. Better fishing gear is just addictive and way too much fun.

Saros Vs Symetre Vs Revo Sx
I have no specific experience with any of those reels other then trying them in the store. That being said I do have a couple Stradic FJs and a Stradic CI4+. I've also had experience with several Daiwa spinning reels, older Penns, and a Pflueger. In my opinion the line management features on the Shimano's really work, and xship truly improves the smoothness and power of a spinning reel. For my money in that price range I'd go with one of the Shimano's. Others may have different experiences But as we all say, go with what feels best and most comfortable for you. Don't make a decision you'll second guess.

Cabelas Just Pushed Bps In The Mud An Stole His Girlfriend.
If you have liked Cabelas Daiwa offerings in the past you should check out the new Cabelas Verano spinning reel. Based on the specs it looks like a Ballistic with an extra bearing and at 50 bucks less. I think it's why they are selling the Procyon at such a discount right now.

My Chronarch Ci4 Came
Hootie your initial impressions are the same as mine. And I totally understand, when I got mine for Christmas I walked out to the creek behind my house to play even though we had some ice on the creek. It was my first higher reel and I was stunned at how smooth and effortless casting and pitching with it are. And it is just such a comfortable reel to palm and hold the size is perfect for me. You happen to have any experience with the Daiwa T3? I got of those for myself when TW was having that sale, but I feel the CI4 out performs it and is more comfortable by a mile. Getting ready to exchange it for another CI4 but trying to make sure I'm not crazy for doing so. That cats gonna be real surprised if you ever practice with a real hook accidently!

Get Stella For A Stradic Price
I saw the same thing, but when I saw they were the Stradic model numbers knew they wouldn't honor it. The entire catalog was poorly printed, the alignment and colors were off all over. Of interest though was the new Cabelas Verano reels in the front, especially the spinning reel. It looks to be a Cabelas version if a Daiwa Ballistic with additional bearings for 50 bucks less.

Daiwa T3 Size
I must be a minority here. I bought a T3 1016 just before Christmas, and also received a Chronarch 151 CI4+ for Christmas. In my hands on the same rod the one day it was warm enough to hit the water the Chronarch just did everything better then the T3. It cast further for me with the same amount effort, I had to throw harder with the T3 to get more from it. Also I found the Chronarch pitched easier and smoother even with the same tension settings as casting. I really wanted to like the T3 because of the killer deal I got on it from TW. The Chronarch also free spools better/longer. Ergonomics wise the Chronarch is 200% more comfortable then the T3. The T3 is noticably wider everywhere and has a ridge on the palming side plate making it far less comfortable in my hand, and because of the line guide and hood opening I can't wrap my finger around the front. The Chronarch is shaped really nicely for palming, just disappears in my hand, and no interference with my finger wrapped around the front. The T3 is very wide at the rear and front, it doesn't taper to the front like the Chronarch. These two reels are the first high end bait casters for me. All my previous BCs are Pro Quals or a couple much older and since retires Quantams that I started with. I wanted to love the T3 but I'm about ready to exchange it for another Chronarch CI4+ bc I can just tell if I have both reels on two different rods I'm never going to want to use the rod carrying the T3. Not sure if hand size plays into this but I definitely have smaller slimmer hands. Not saying the T3 is a bad reel bc the retrieve feel is buttery smooth and silky, handle rotation is effortless. But just don't think I can make it work.

Cabelas advanced angler bags. Magnum or super magnum size. Very well made and constructed of heavy duty materials.

Cabela's Advanced Anglers Tackle Bag-Super Magnum
Myself and my dad also have the previous version of the Magnum. Great bag, lots of storage and organization. Been very happy with the extra pockets for the smaller boxes on the outside of the new version are a nice addition. Also cabelas has great service if you ever have an issues.

Stradic, Supreme Xt Or?
What's your price range? If you're looking for lighter in a Shimano you might could still find an original Stradic CI4 on close out somewhere. If you've got the budget the new Stradic CI4+ is excellent. I have both Stradic FJs and CI4+ and love them both, but enjoy the lighter weight of the CI4+ for sure. IMHO the Shimano line management system and xship make noticeable improvements. Also lots of good feedback on here about the Pflueger Supremes but when I was shopping and held them I just prefered the feel I'd the Shimano's.

Old Bps Pro Qualifier
Yep looks like I misread the pricing. That being the case I've got no experience with that much older model or round reels so I can't weigh in. The current low profile models are excellent performers and value at their price point.
-
Old Bps Pro Qualifier
Considering the current pro qualifier low profile reels were in sale at bps for 79 it doesn't sound like those older versions are a steal.

Thanks To The Majority Of You........
It's an excellent value, I'm sure you'll enjoy. Congrats!

Chronarch Ch200E7 Or Ci4+
Well it's just an Orochi XX so in same ball park as a Dobyns Extreme. It was a reel I already had, but that's one reason I'm in the market for lighter more refined reels!
-
Chronarch Ch200E7 Or Ci4+
I'm in the same boat, trying to decide what new reels to try. Have 4 PQs that perform well, but aren't super refined and biggest issue is their weight. Once I put them on a Donyns rod and Megabass rod I can really feel it. So I ordered a Daiwa T3 1016 from TW since they're on a massive clearence. Really wanted to try the Magforce 3d braking. But after holding it, just not sure about it. Other contenders for me are the Chronarch CI4, Chronarch E and Tatula. But loving my Shimano spinning reels really has me leaning towards the CI4 and returning the Daiwa.

Great reel, enjoy it!

Daiwa T3 Ballistic
Does anyone have experience with the T3 1016? Is it a good value at 215? Worth the extra cost over the T3 Ballistic at 125? I'm considering these reels versus a Tatula Type R and Shimano Chronarch.
-
Daiwa T3 Ballistic
Don't mean to hi jack the thread but i was looking at the same thing. Seeing what the T3 and T3 Ballistic are on sale for I was wondering if they're worth the investment. I'm considering them in comparison to reels like the Tatula type r, Chronarch, and Lews Tournament Pro.

Shimano
Use the search feature and you'll find a lot of opinions on it. Sorry don't mean for that to come off snarky. Just wanted you to know the search feature is there, and there are a lot of past topics on this reel. I've found a lot of info on reels or rods I'm interested in my searching the forum. Good luck with god new reel!

Need A Couple Rods. Looking For Suggestions.
Rich, awesome to hear you're trying to get your son interested in fishing and spending quality learning/experiencing it with him. Most of my best childhood memories are sharing bass fishing with my father, and that continues today at the age of 34. Knowing how a 7 year old is going to learn, and fish, and make mistakes I'd really recommend you stick to a cheaper option for him that can be easily replaced. It is likely to suffer damage and may be something be will grow out of. Cabelas has their Fish Eagle 50 rods on sale for 44.99 starting on 11/28. I haven't used on recently but in the past they've been a decent value. For you there are a lot of great options in the 100 dollar range. Only rod I've had personal experience with in that range recently is the St Croix Triumph and Premier lines. They'd likely be a bit tip heavy but have nice sensitivity and handling for their price. With Black Friday sales coming you can probably swing something more in the 150 range normally and get it for your budget. Whatever you choose I know you'll make great me prices for you and your son. Best of luck to you!
