  1. If you want a cheaper spinning reel spend a few more bucks and get a Kastking Sharky III. Nice reel.
  2. P-Line CX Premium is my go to non-braided line. It's amazingly strong for the rated test strength and pretty abrasion resistant. It's usually fairly affordable too. That said, I've pretty much switched all my fishing rigs over to straight braided except for a few I use in extremely clear water. For that I like either regular Power Pro or Power Pro Super Slick 8. If you aren't looking at braided line on a spinning reel you are missing out on some casting distance. The CX Premium does fairly well at 8-10lbs though and doesn't retain too much memory. Used to use Yo-Zuri Hybrid and it would get horrible memory in it on a spinning reel.
  3. Fish don't care what color your rigs are.
  4. If I didn't have a family to haul around I'd have a 15 or 16' jet boat. Would be all I need to get to the spots I need to get to to fish for some smallmouth in our rivers. When we were in Canada we fished out of 16' Lunds pretty much like yours, just not as fancy. Did the job. Fish weren't going anywhere, didn't need to get there fast.
  5. This stuff is awesome. Water rolls right off fabrics treated with it. https://www.rustoleum.com/product-catalog/consumer-brands/neverwet/neverwet-fabric
  6. Tube for smallmouth and a wacky stick worm for largemouth.
  7. Both of mine go inside my shed. One sits on the ground and the other above it on the wall on a 2x4 rack I built. Have stored them in there for over a decade now and no issues. Polyethylene can withstand temps around -100F before they get too brittle to use.
  8. Crankbaits are all I used to have confidence in since they were pretty easy to use and they caught fish. But in the last 4-5 years I've fished more weedy lakes and brushy streams that have caused me to switch over to more weedless presentations. When I'm in a nice clear rocky bottom lake though I'll break them out. I'm not a big fan of getting handful of trebles in my hand when a fish thrashes though.
  9. That's true. I'm probably a 99% CWR fisherman though. Kept a mess of walleye and pike when I was in Canada last year, but those are probably the only fish I've kept in the last 10 years.
  10. Hands down it would be fishing. I can release my catch back into the water relatively unharmed. Can't really say that with hunting.
  11. Joking. But it does do well in keeping you in your lane.
  12. Our minivan has lane keep assist and it's pretty nice to be able to let go of the wheel for a second to take a bite of your burger.
  13. I guess I should say one of the most recognizable Scottish voices.
  14. That's really the only time I have to re-rig a Ned is when I lose it when I break off.
  15. Bow chicka bow wow. LOL
  16. Does anyone ever wonder why this thin piece of molded plastic with some hooks on it cost so much? I guess it's due to they fact it may work a little better than others do, and people are willing to pay that price. The thing can't cost much more than a couple bucks to make though. Profit margin must be pretty good on them.
  17. Greatest Scottish voice ever.
  18. I've heard their dyes and glitters make great plastic baits.
  19. Well, if he has his voltmeter hooked up properly (red to positive and black to negative) and it's still reading a negative value then his battery may have have experienced "Pole Reversal" which can happen if you use old and new batteries in series. https://www.panasonic-batteries.com/en/faq/why-does-battery-show-minus-voltage-when-checked-voltmeter#:~:text=If the poles of your, phenomenon called “polarity reversal”.&text=In this case there is,old and new batteries together.
  20. Batteries are DC. If it's reading negative, swap your leads on your voltmeter. It'll read +12.84
  21. It's a big lake, and they'll be out on the deeper brush piles this time of year. Good luck.
  22. Lucky-E-Strike Rick Clunn STX jerk baits are decently priced and work well. So do the Strike King KVD jerk baits.
  23. Gotcha. I did find this (not so clear) picture over on *** boards. This guy only has a 12v trolling motor but his green battery is in about the same position as yours, and he has his other battery next to his PP pump. Would that work if you move the pump over on yours?
  24. I guess I’m not familiar with what all is involved with the power pole installation. Is that the pump that says “Sportsman 8”? I wish I had my boat at my house and I’d take a picture of how much room I have with my 24 series starting battery and two 27 series batteries turned sideways.
