  1. FC on everything except for one bc set up that I use for frogs and buzzbaits. I also throw big jigs and t rigs on here.
  2. Thanks for your initial thoughts kickerfish
  3. I use a Powell endurance 723c for t rigs and jigs. I think that would be fine as long as the cover isn't too bad.
  4. So I went ahead and changed the post. I found I can get all three reels for about the same price under retail value. Now, if you could pick any of the three, which would it be? Thanks.
  5. Black and Blue Jig. Caugh my biggest bass fishing that in the rain.
  6. If I had the money I would definitely look at a Stradic, but I need to keep it around 100. The 2 that I'm really considering are the RTX and the Supreme MGX.
  7. Sure thing! I appreciate it. Hopefully you like it.
  8. 150-200, I'd recommend a Powell or a Phenix. 250+, I'd recommend a Dobyns Champ or Champ Extreme.
  9. Hey guys, I'm looking at a new spinning reel for around 100 bucks. I'm planning on waiting till the July 4 sales start to pop up unless I can find a better deal. I know there's the 20$ mail in rebate till June 15 on the RTX. Anyways. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this reel. I've heard pretty much only good things about it, just not a lot of things period. Also, how would you stack it up against other reels in its price range? Pflueger Supreme MGX or Shimano Symetre? I'm planning on using it mostly for senkos, but probably some shakey heads and other light line presentations. Finally, what size? If I'm remembering correct, if you step up from the 25 to the 30 you go from 8# drag to 13#. Don't know if that's necessary for what I'll be using it for, but the reels both weigh 6.6oz. Thanks in advance!

I guess I need to get some Cavitrons. I use Booyahs but I really don't use buzzbaits that much.
  11. Are you building a rod? You may get more responses if you repost this in the tacklemaking forum. I don't know the first thing about this so I unfortunately cannot help.
  12. I have a few but honestly I've never used them. I always use black and blue/purple
  13. I use a MH/F Veritas w/ 50# braid but I really don't throw frogs much. Megastink mentioned the Powell Endurance, which I have 2 of. Thats one of my favorite rods and at 109 thats an awesome deal.
  14. Thats awesome. Congrats
  15. I mostly use them as jig trailers, because I like jig fishing. I just started texas rigging them but haven't had much success so far.
  16. I rarely use a leader. I just don't like tying them on and I haven't seen much of a difference.
  17. Do you guys feel that the rod runs a little heavier power than what its listed? I think I've heard that St. Croix rods are like that in some series.
  18. Thanks. Do you feel like the spinning rods balance as well as the casting rods? What reel do you have on it?
  19. I was looking at the Endurance and the Max too. I have two Endurance rods which I like A LOT, one being the 723CEF, but they're both casting. I'm looking for a spinning rod. Do you have experience with the spinning rods?

    I'm loyal to sales.
  21. I always forget about the Avid. I have yet to get one! This might be it... finally.
  22. I'm looking at putting together a set up fot weightless t-rigged and wacky rig senko's. I wind up throwing them a lot so I'd like to have a set up that I will primarily use for these rigs. I'm looking at a Dobyns Champion but I'm not positive what power or length of rod to get. I just watched a video of a guy using the 704sf which is what I was looking at. I also found the 763sf on sale at tw however. Do you think the 763 is too long for skipping under docks and cover? and is the 3 power heavy enough around that structure? Also, if you have any other ideas for another spinning rod I'd be more than happy to hear them. Thanks.
