Cavitron 3/8oz whatever color blade you prefer and black skirt. There you're done  :respect-059:

I like a half ounce over a 3/8, just because I can throw it farther.  I think distance and covering the water matters when you are throwing a buzz bait.

Cavitron, Black on Black

I'll take a 3/8 black Cavitron too, I like the slower speed of the 3/8 most of the time. Also I like a rod more in the 7' range, but 6'6" will work.

Well it would work I'm sure depending if it's the right Power/Action.  I usually throw my buzzbaits on a 7+ MH/F.

its a medium heavy im7 extra fast tip

This is my go to buzzbait.

What line do you all prefer for buzzbaits?

I prefer mono or a copolymer in 12lbs test

What about 50 lbs test it's the same diameter?

I prefer my line to have a little stretch to it so I don't pull it out of the fishes mouth.

This is why I was asking that question. I was thinking with a M/H fast action and line as stiff as 50 lb braid that you might miss a lot of bites. I'm not so worried about diameter with a lure that is topwater and the line isn't in the water. I would be throwing it on a 7' M/H fast action so I was thinking maybe 20-25 lb copolymer.

Especially if you are using that Berkley with a XF tip.  I'd recommend a mono or Copolymer.

I guess I need to get some Cavitrons. I use Booyahs but I really don't use buzzbaits that much.

I don't think I have problems with hook up ratios with braid, I usually go full braid.  That is why I wait to make sure they have it before I set the hook.  (Count to 3 or say the phrase "Set the hook", I will also set it when I think I know they have it before I finish counting..etc).

I use Booyah too, they work just fine.  Heck even the BPS brands work well.  I used them on my trip last year and the smallies didn't care it was "BPS or Booyah".  Even caught a pike with it too.

I really like double props on my buzzbaits, make quite the commotion. My favorite is chartreuse and white with gold blades. If i'm throwing a single prop its a cavitron. Bobby doesn't make a bad color, they are all good. Wish he would make a double prop version.
