Sounds like a connecting rod to me if it was seized and you got it loose it wouldn't stop partways. Something caused it to seize maybe it stopped pumping oil or maybe the water pump sucked something in.

How can they call it a bass boat when its not "per se" how far down do you have to reach to lip your bass? On the old lund pro bass boats they were low enough to lip land your fish multi species imo isn't really a bass boat per se for 32000 you could buy a "real" nice bass boat and not have to use a net like me although one of these years I'll have to break down and buy one maybe lol. Well its almost time again missed the mpls sport show for the first time in 30 years! Oh well I learned a lesson about getting your motor worked on get references first! I didn't have my boat from the 1st of august on last year because I brought my boat 87 starcraft 170 v with 115 merc to someone who didn't know what he was doing well its a long story! How much more for the ranger? Are you keeping the boat for a while? Then I'd spend the extra money on the ranger they usually have good stuff on them too.

Try a drop shot rig with a big fathead minnow use a circle hook you wont hook em deep this way or for the shallower ones 10 ft or less a #1 thill center slider with a circle hook I bought some mustad ultra point circle octupus #4s had real good luck with those. Good luck! P.s. I know a lot of you are against live bait but rigged right you won't deep hook fish all my smallies have been top of mouth or side of mouth.

There arent any rock bass in the upper st croix river where I go this rig is deadly when you find the depth theyre at just use a circle hook I use a 4 or 6 size never had a deep hook to pull usually top of lip. The "jig" guys always ask what im using lol. Junebugman

Thanks guys stator checked good but the trigger was bad I found a bunch of switcheboxe's fairly cheap 100.00 or less the motor only had spark on cylinder 2/4 nothing on the rest would a bad trigger do this or combo trigger/power pack thanks. Junebugman

How cool is that a "dual purpose" spincast reel I had several centuries and a sabra too you could put 20 lb test on them. There was one other johnson I can't think of that was smaller than a sabra but a little bigger than a century anyone know? Remember the johnson's came from the factory filled with 10 lb stren blue it even had the little stren tag on it COOL!!!!!!

Hi I tried it and it works great when smallies are deeper my bait of choice are the biggest fatheads I can find or get my indian friend to trap me some 4 to 5" red tail chubs, I use a vmc drop shot rig or a circle hook with appropiate weight, i fish the st croix river above taylors falls. Junebugman
