  1. i got it off another forum for a great price. i want a perch color baby myself. we don't have many perch but the ones we do get snacked on pretty regular here.
  2. it'll be a good shiner imitator for you. i got mine as a carp imitator
  3. lol yea the carpet is definately the ugliest thing I've ever seen but it was here when i bought the house. i paid little to nothing for it. the carpet will be ripped out next month and putting some laminate hardwood down
  4. Cannt wait for some warmer weather so i can fish the paint off this guy.
  5. Well i just don't know how you northern guys do it. In the last 20 days we've had a snow storm that crippled thhe state of georgia and now we've got an accumulation of around an inch of ice some sleet and possibly an inch of snow by morning. Shutting down everything here. haven't had a fish on the line in 2 weeks. if it doesn't warm up soon i may go crazy.
  6. i drink liquor what a coincidence lol
  7. I'm going to guess not many lakes in maine have shad? If not you wouldn't know that lm bass will eat 4 lbs of shad in a day or two and swell themselves inpreparation for spawn. i caught a fish last year in february on a spinnerbait that threw up over 40 shad on its way to the boat and still had a potbelly. the fish was approx. 17" and was almost 5 lbs! add in the 10% of egg weight and you could have a fish that could gain over 2lbs in a month.
  8. Definately good to get out and hook a good one. buzzed you are supposed to get a little more snow tomorro up your way?
  9. That bass looks like it has a death mask on! Super cool. never caught one with the pigment issues on its face. the few I've caught have it on the tail or around the latteral line.
  10. I like electric chicken (bubblegum and chartreuse) with a pink fluke. also bluegill is another top producer for me.
  11. The rain has the water pretty muddy on the lagrange end of the lake yellow jacket and whitewater are pretty dirty was gonna go out and try myself but i gotta work tomorro. I've heard bama rigs have taken a few but mainly its been vertical jigging spoons over fish on the bottom. jerkbaits may work. water temps are still around 48-50 degrees. give me a call if you make it down this way
  12. lucky you i want a hiroshima myself.
  13. 1. 7" or bigger swimbait 2 cavitron black buzz bait 3. Zoom 8" dead ringer 4. Wake bait
  14. I really like them. green penny swamp gas and gold nugget are my favorite. i cut the head off behind the eyes and fish them on a jig head 1/2-1oz for bottom bounciing. or vmc ike swimbait hooks for weedless presentation. or my favorite way to fish these is to get the 5 1/2" size take an ink pen tube and extract some plastic from the thickest part of the body in between the two fins and glue in a 1/4-3/8 weight. Take a coffee stir straw and run it from the mouth to just below the gill plate add split ring and hook and you've got an awesome line thru for less than 6 bucks.
  15. Fish it like a squarebill around timber or wake it across weedbeds pretty deady bait in my opinion
  16. When are they going to release more swaver 200's
  17. I have the most success on them when they are activley feeding and catch them on a number of baits. 4" sassy shad on 1/2 jig heads. red head chartruese body or white body with red head is my best producers. also have luck on bama rigs with 4" baits. a magnum super fluke in white or bubblegum. or big topwater spooks or cordell redfins for heartstopping topwater strikes . or my personal favorite throwingbig swimbaits for them .
  18. hey thanks mike. hope you're doing well. hopefully the weather will improve soon and the fishing too.
  19. Sounds fun the shoal bass is one of my favorite fish if i had a canoe or yak id be all over this as thomaston isn't far from hear.
  20. Never thought about helen ga know they have streams with trout been twice but never heard anyone talk about bass fishing up there
  21. I've caught plenty of fish with them trick is to cover a lot of water with them throw them over grass or weeds around cover. Vary your retrieve speed. white or white chartreuse skirts are my most successful colors
  22. Yea I'm not much for slowing down myself. but I'm getting better. the water temp was 39 last week but its rising fast we have another cold snap coming thru end of this week that'll drive the temp back down but by the end of the month the water temps should be up in the 55 degree area and that's when the bass here get hungry
  23. Thanks for the heads up ill definitely take a look into burton
