i live close to mcgee bridge access by highland i haven't got a boat right now but I've been out in my kayak a few times recently and managed a few decent 2-3lb largies with a shakey head and a few small spots. the weather won't stabilize long enough for the bass to get in a good prespawn pattern. the crappie on the other hand have been pretty predictable and are on timber in shallow coves

Idk about the rod but the claw 230 is a sweet bait haven't caught any fish on it yet but it looks awesome in the swimming pool

very accurate. been my experience also. i don't know about a fraternity or group or right of passage. i have let a few friends of mine get in the know about big baits but they don't really wanna pay the price of admission to get into the swimbait world. i tend to keep it pretty quiet at the local bait shop and ill hide my big baits when other boats are near.

I got an ascend 128t about a month ago after going down to the river an unable to launch my buddy's boat. due to low water levels we casted around the launnch when two guys pull up with yaks and put in and preceeded to paddle up river to a rocky shoal and catch fish. i tricked mine out with a trolling motor bassyak style. Redid the anchor trolly and added a lowrance 5x dsi with chartplotter. i must say I've been pretty impressed with my first two outing in it. like it so much i have been slacking on my new bass boat search.

i too have a trio 30 spinning and its probably my favorite spinning reel. never had a problem with it. i also have a komodo a citrix a and a citrix 364 casting reels. all 3 have been great reels at good pricepoints. there customer service is courteous and quick. also own two big bait rods from them that are great. in my opininion they're one of the better big fishing companies

I have a tricked out ascend 128t and it was a beast to car top before i added the battery and tm bass yak style. after two trips i found a used jetski trailer and converted it now it is easy peezy except backing that baby trailer down

Depends on a few things. Location, can i let the fish swim around without fear of wrappibg itself up? Tackle, if its conventional gear i will let them fight a bit. if I'm using big baits there's no grace in my method. i set the hook and try to ski them to the boat like an excited boy with his first bluegill.

Throw it on structure and fish it slow. if you think its slow enough slow down some more. try to fish what depth the fish are holding. i spend more time on my df than i do on my deck casting when fishing the rig

hey mike I've only been out twice lately once fpr bass and once for crappie. the bass are coming shallow and the crappie are on fire right now i caught 3 around 2lbs and more in the 1lb range than i could count
