  1. will be after her next week son has surgery tomorro and the cold front hopefully by Tuesday I will have another shot at her!
  2. Yes sir! The gear ratio is perfect! Handle her like a champ!
  3. Improved clinch with 10 wraps. Never failed me and I can tie it blind folded in the dark!
  4. Yea I'm sure I'm the only guy here who throws the 250 here. that bait in my opinion is worth all 150 I paid for it! Never got a lot of bites on it but I've seen more fish over 5 pounds fishing this bait for the last year than I've caught in the last 5 years. Not a magic bait but pretty close
  5. So here in Georgia I only know of about 12 people who throw big swimbaits. None of those live or fish any where close to west point lake. So this year I've been hitting it hard with glides and linker punkers today I caught 4 fish on the punker none bragging size! Biggest 4.6 lbs but right before dark I came across a long point adjoined by an underwater island. Never caught a fish off of it before but I had a randy Howell moment in bass master and motored in shallow and fired a Deps 250 slide swimmer across the point toward the island. Three quarter turns of the reel and I have a massive strike set the hook and ski a 9lb striper to the boat two cast later and I'm in awe as I see a giant shadow aggressively following the Deps back to the boat as it gets closer I can't believe my eyes! It's a largemouth! Biggest I've ever seen in person. If I had to estimate it was bigger than my pb of 11lbs and was easily 26" and at least 13lbs! She followed all the way boat side and even followed a figure 8 until it lost interest and slowly swam away only to follow it back on the next cast only this time boat side she lunged at the 250 after a 180 directional change. Only it was way too exciting and I jerked it out of her mouth! I have that punched in the gut feeling and I'm sure I won't sleep tonight. With the nation wide front moving in tomorro I may not get the chance to catch her ever again!
  6. Catt, miss state let uab almost take the lead before half time, let Arkansas run the ball at will, let Kentucky throw for 300+ passing, let U.T. Martin hang around and score 17 points. Not as impressive as every one thinks. Not really as strong as they are made out to be. Look for a loss in Tuscaloosa and maybe a rematch in the championship!
  7. Yea possible your drag may be set too tight. Never used less than 17lb tho I like siege line
  8. hard to beat bama at home. especially when we're generating offense of 500+ yds in bryant denny. Mississppi St is a great ball team but they havent done much to impress me since their win against auburn. Prescott is starting to show signs of wear and tear from all the running around and their defense is hit and miss at best. Alabama has a fumble problem this year which needs to be corrected and under new O.C. Kiffin have gotten away from the smashmouth hard hitting running game that was their bread and butter for decades. Truth be told if bama had to go play @ MissSt. id be worried but at home Bama seems to play like they want to win another championship. But who knows if we'll even get a bid into the playoff. The playoff committee seems to have a grudge against Bama for some reason.
  9. Haters gonna hate! Roll tide. Pulled out a tough one in Death Valley. Taking that momentum and pulling out a win at home vs miss. St
  10. i suggest you get a 7 or 9' ms slammer, a hudd 68 rof5, and a river 2 sea swaver (168 or 200 size) and those 3 three baits will give you so much insight into swimbaits and fish behavior. and maybe add a gill bait of some type. i have over 40 swimbaits but these are the ones i throw 80% of the time they just flat out catch fish for me. then if you like fishing big swimbaits and have the money you can progress to more specific situation baits that are a lil more expensive.
  11. depends on time of year. in fall i can catch quite a few from the bank. but the rest of the year its boat. and usually a boat can put you on better quality fish too.
  12. try out a duo realis spinbait 70 or the new 90.. u wont be dissapointed
  13. brushpiles arent holding bass right now tho. if i were you id be fishing mid creek pockets with grass or blowdowns early then boat docks the rest of the day.
  14. shoot me a pm bud maybe i can help you out some. I live on west point lake.
  15. flukes are a great producer for spots this time of year. i prefer baby bass color or albino. also a 6' bullshad is a good lure for finding larger kicker fish. flip a jig in green pumpkin/amber with a rage craw around isolated timber or dock posts and hold on. expect the water to be fairly clear (at least 6' of visibilty) if you are allowed to throw it, the bama rig can be deadly this time of the year on long points or on schooling fish. havent fished up there since august so im not 100% on what patterns are going on right now but thats what has worked for me the last fall when i fished there. Hope that helps and good luck!
  16. Pizz customs has quite a few and he can paint just about any pattern you would want
  17. I do what bluebasser does if they're not too big. I call it "bouncing"
  18. thanks this mutt has a clean bill of health so far. no history in its lineage of heart disease or allergies. he's just a big old 30lb baby. thinks he's smaller than he is lol but you are definately right about bulldog practice. They are a little more high maintenence than other dogs I've had. thouroughly enjoying him so far
  19. My wife is a huge UGA fan and has two outfits for him already. only thing saving him right now is the heat lol.. i truely feel sorry for the mutt come football season
  20. After unexpectingly losing the family pet last year i was reluctant. but after seeing him i couldn't say no.
  21. Left my box of terminal tackle just the other day
