Any one familiar with the area? Will be visiting my father in law for Xmas holiday. Would like to do some fishing while there. Any info would be appreciated

I fish the river walk a lot by boat mostly. The catfish and striper bite is unreal during the summer. Bring an ultra light and toe up a double rig wit a bright colored crappy jig and enjoy constant action catching two skip jack at a time! Save a few for cut bait and catch some cats and stripers

Icon my local waters are full of 12-14" spotted bass so I keep 3-5 every time I go out (assuming I catch them) and either transplant in a private pond or give them to my neighbor to eat

I use the Lightning rod shocks for striper fishing and even use one for jigs they are surprisingly sensitive

I have a bluegill colored square bill that is one of my #1 producing cranks

Wish they would go back to stocking trout into the river here but they killed the program a few years back during state cut backs. Never targeted them but it it was fun to watch them try to escape being eaten by the stripers

Suspended fish? Or on the bottom? A hollow belly swimbait or spoon fished over suspending fish can be lethal. If on the bottom a larger presentation worked slowly thru the area may be more appealing to lethargic inactive fish.

Snaps can limit or increase action on big baits. Depending on what the fish want I may tie to snap or split ring or I may tie direct.

Nice handled that combo at a trade show a month or so ago. Lightest rig I've ever held. Wish I had the coin laying around
