  1. 100% AGREE with ww2farmer! The only reason im using the XMLs,is that i got the on sale for 39.99 at the time. I keep talking myself out of getting those shock rods, but every time im in walmart,i got to go play with them.
  2. My personal choices are a 6ft/6" MH for 1/4oz thru 3/8oz in tight areas. Where theres alittle more throwing room,i like my 7ft/MH for 3/8 thru 3/4oz. Both rods are Cabelas XML casting. Bought them 3yrs ago, they are some great rods!
  3. At 3.50 a package,thats a good deal.
  4. Im looking to get more of these hooks, but cant find them anywhere? I was getting them at WalMart but they cant seem to get anymore or dont want to mess with it.BassPro,Cabelas,T.W. dont have them either. Ive been putting a #8 up front, and a #6 on the back of my kvd 1.0s, which have been catching the heck out of fish for me the last 3 weeks. Anyone that can point me in the right direction,or reccomend a different brand thats just as g ood,i would greatly appreciete it. Thanks in advance everyone.................... EDIT; Forgot to mention they are 1x 2x short.
  5. I personally, think it may be the hooks? Theres nothing wrong with you rod or reel?
  6. Ive been collecting Bagley FAT CATS for about 10 years. Any ive gotten have come from yard sales, flea markets, and auctions. I wont buy them off fleabay! I have alot in the original packing..
  7. I had the same situation. We were at Cabelas and i showed her a ZEBCO OMEGA PRO Z03. Comes with extra spool,anti-reverse,and 2 hands. I took the real and put it on a rod the same length she has. She was sold, and we took it home along with a bunch of crankbaits she picked out. She likes the reel so much, she wants another. I fished with it for awhile and was quite impressed. she caught several 4pounders and a 6. Reel handle them no problem. I did switch out the line though...........
  8. Id take him to walmart and let him pick out one under 40.00? 6FT . maybe an ugly stick, lighting rod,or them cool looking shock rods.It would be a great father and son outing...........
  9. Thanks to all who replied. I personally never thought the color really mattered to fish. I just have about 2 dozen cranks that could stand to use new hooks. I found 11 packs of the KVD TRIPLE GRIPS EXTRA SHORT,on sale for 5.88. Ive used them before and man theyll keep fish hooked. Just didnt know on red. Thanks again guys, good fishin.......................
  10. Theses postings are some really great learning tools. Ive always wanted to try airbrushing. I know theres alot more to learn, but ive learn alot just from this post.

As said in post 4. I ran the heck out of them also this spring and a heavy rain.
  13. Can anyone tell me about red hooks, especially on cranks? What are the benefits if any? I have some cranks that need new hooks. Thanks everyone.........
  14. All my spinning reels are Shimano 1500s and 2500s.
  15. 2 colors in 6inch for me. BLACK and MOCASSIN BROWN. I currently have about 50 new packs of each,i bought at 1.00 a bag per 15 each. Because they werent gonna sell 6inch anymore. So i took all they had in stock.........

Nice shooting there! But where did you get the 14inch styrofoam bowl? JUST KIDDING YA! I cant wait till the first either.Good luck!
  18. Sounds like a good plan.Let us know how the tube and shakey head worked out.............
  19. Bobby-Any issues with hook not getting a complete pass through? Also youve got some excellent products!!
  20. Both PowerPro and 832 are great lines. And 8lb green mono is just as visilble as braid.......................
  21. Just to bad it didnt last through labor day?
  22. Personally i dont use them.I dont see why anyone needs to throw five lures at once.Never have had to resort to that kind of so called fishing my self......................
  23. If you can use schedule 40. It will probably cost more to ship because of lenght and weight, but if the rods are expensive, they will arrive just fine. Just hope the shipping cost dont eat you up.
  24. I personally think that either brand mentioned will work well for you. As WRB stated above, a 6;3.1 reel will pretty much take care of anything you want to throw. As far as loosing fish,a reel has nothing to do with that.If your jig setup is working for you, leave it be. Try your vendetta as topwater with 6;3.1. I believe youll be fine, but use quality line. Just my low post opinion, hope it works out well......................
